CamG14
Hi, I stopped by Valens conservation today to see when the lake would be open for fishing and they informed me that this year it will be closed for fishing until bass season opens. Just thought I would post this so I could maybe save someone a trip up there. Thanks Cam
bigugli
Being such a small lake it was a smart move. Dils lake in Niagara has been on a short season for decades because there is such heavy fishing pressure on that small lake. A similar move should be made with mountsberg as well as tighter enforcement.
ChefMick
Just to add also Christie ponds are closed for bottom re-construction.

bigugli
Why mountsberg has mostly pike Because mountsberg gets hit hard by urban anglers , and far too many completely ignore the restrictions put in place for that conservation area. Netmaniskey
The same could be said for anywhere I'm sorry I don't agree enforcement is the answer I meant I don't agree, enforcement is the answer to people ignoring regulations have your phone handy call tip line I had to today. ChefMick
I believe the only thing we should care about is following the rules and regulations set in place by the conservation authority. Ultimately it is there expertise that will decide the fate regarding angling for our children.
