Snakeyes
whats the difference between a centerpin reel and a centerpin trolling reel? My father in law just gave me two circa 1935ish I think I really don't even know what he gave me yet. Just about to google them. jordanl
are you talking about the comparison of a centerpin reel to a centerpin mooching reel? i know they are popular out in bc, im just shooting around here, but i assume a center pin mooching reel is what you would use for trolling and when you have a fish you can fight it like a no drag centerpin, terrible description of mooching reels, but i know they are very similar and related to centerpin reels people use to fish tribs ect
Snakeyes
might be trotting reel whatever that is???????
staffman
A trotting reel is likely just a different name for a centre pin reel. A mooching reel is only good for trolling as you can not cast it as it has a closed section over part of the reel and has no free running line feature.
