This looks brutal to me !

Appears as if the practice is quite acceptable. I read nobody questioning mortality in either article on the subject.

How else are you going to get all those fish into a remote site like that ? In terms of people power, cost and ease of stocking I assume this is the only way they can do it within their means.

Really this could be the best and most environmentally friendly way to do this ... Not necessarily fish friendly though ...

I know they used to do airdrops here in Ontario. However, they were low altitude drops and from the 2 I have witnessed, the drop was made with fingerlings kept in a cold slush to neutralize shock on impact
