smerchly
The vid I see is not a goose , but a zipper mouth ( merganser duck) . When fishing open water we have to keep a keen eye out for these diver ducks like grebes , mergansers , cormorants and even loons in the northern lakes . Glad to see it didn't swallow the hook ....or a trip to the vet would be next ..
niagarasteelheader
I've caught long tail ducks in local places ice fishing before. They come in chasing the schools of minnows and your bait just hanging there makes for an easy meal. Just remember first thing they usually do when topside is empty their bowels!! Just a heads up!! emenius
In a completely extreme case excluding the loon, maybe an acidental dinner?
