Finsanity
Hey my buddy was fishing the glen and they lost some equipment. It was left in the grass at the glenn parking lot. Its a 13 foot 6 inch raven rpx 3 and a gold islander reel with lead core on it and a hair band to hold it on the reel. If you know anyone or have heard anyone that may have found it please let me know. Think of how crushed you'd be if you lost yours. Rod was like 2 weeks old he just finally graduated to a decent outfit and lost it. Again there's a reward and please think of how it would feel to lose this after a fishing day. Tyler0420
Hope it gets found. One question what with the leadcore on a float reel? Or am I missing something?

steellee
Heard of some wrapping lead core as backing on lighter pins. In place of dacron. Never tried it or understood any advantage to it myself
Tyler0420
Awe to balance the rod if u were using it as backing. Great idea if that's the case.
AwolRJ
Maybe try calling the Parks? Worth a shot maybe they found it.
cplummer
If the rod was custom should have had it balanced with the weight of the reel. Must be factory. I would call parks commision as Randy stated.
steellee
It's not to balance the rod but to manipulate the startup/ spin time on certain reels.
Tom S
I get it. Add mass to the reel drum - gives a bit harder start-up, but probably smoother and easier drift once it has momentum.

Exactly. Like a freight train effect. Harder to start but once in motion the momentum should carry itself. On a heavy drum reel people can go the oppossite effect and use a cork arbour and minimal mainline in place of backing to enhance startup. Thats the theory anyways.Never seen the need to try it myself
