  1. I gave it.to one of the RCMP officers because by that time I would have missed my connection due to having to go back to the check in counter . Not a big deal I didn’t pay for it plus I have another one the same that is being shipped to me along with some other red dots . The Manufacturer gave  me a bunch of stuff to try out . A couple of the scopes are also from there and the Apollo scope is from a factory very close to where I am when in China . The factory owners wife is a friend of that particular manufacturer so she had them send that one to me and a couple of others that are being shipped along with my regular stuff .

  2. I am going to do a little venting now .On Monday I returned from a overseas trip and had a layover in Vancouver before arriving at my final destination Toronto. I managed to pack everything into carry on so no checking any luggage . While I was away I was either given or I bought some red dots and scopes from Taobao ( sort of Amazon).
I knew I was going to be questioned about these when I arrived attheAirport in Shanghai and I fully expected this . And I was questioned and had a nice chat with security and I as on my way , no big deal.

Now I get to Canada and Vancouver and all of a sudden I am a gun smuggler , Terrorist god only knows what else .Security goes crazy my bags are emptied I am searched from head to toes. And there saying I need permission from the airlines to pack scoped in my bag. I have two RCMP officers standing by and it’s just crazy . There is no law that says I can not buy a frigging rifle scope or red dots and I was way under the limit for what I was allowed to bring back with me.

After about half a hour to forty minutes I am then told that one of the optics needs the airlines permission for me to bring with me . It was the red dot with the magnifier in the second picture that apparently is a supposed issue . All the others in the first picture was no problem and I could just pack them up and get on the flight. This was just total bullshit and some excuse to try to justify why I was held up and put through all this .Needless to say at this point my sense of humour was getting a little frayed and if it weren’t for the fact I had a connection to get I would have certainly pursued this B.S . The cops suggested I just mail the one red dot but that meant trying to get to a post office and for something I didn’t even pay for the hassle was not worth it , plus I actually have the same thing I had put in a container that ships next week.

China is so strict with there gun policy even airsoft  is not allowed  and yet I had so little trouble compared to gun control in Canada it’s pathetic .

that’s my rant finished with .

  3. I have to admit the Coyote population in my area seems large . Last year I often picked up a three legged doe on my trail cameras . The left rear leg was missing from the elbow down. I have seen no signs of it this year and I purposely set more cameras in the area to try to spot it..

The rabbit population seems to be a lot less this year but more sightings on my trail cameras for coyotes.I own one .223 rifle apart from that only .22wmr  and 17 hmr  rifles that are too small a caliber to use humanely on Coyotes. It’s something to consider for the winter

  4.

I was shaving one morning in the bathroom and I saw these guys outside . The thing is I opened the bedroom door and stepped out and the coyote had no fear whatsoever . It just stood there looking at me . I fired a .22 of into the bush to scare them away ,but just a couple of minutes later they where back .if I had let the pups out without supervision I would probably have lost them .

Doesn't make much difference if you have a night scope. You cannot hunt with it in Canada.

    Unfortunately...

Hunting regs says that Landowners ,farmers or there agents can hunt for Coyotes  at night if they are protecting there livestock . I think a argument could be made for protecting property and pets .
Being a landowner and having pets I think if I wished to hunt at night I could make a case for doing this . A surefire way would be to get a few chickens and that’s livestock .

What are those worth ? Watched some amazing videos of guys boar hunting at night with those scopes.

I bought them from Taobau (like Amazon ) the price was 488rmb which is almost $100cdn .

looking thru the. At night from the hotel room and closing all the curtains to make ihe room pitch black let’s you see pretty good the adjustment for the cross hair remains to be seen how accurate it is going to be . I am not sure if Taobau ships to

    Canada .

  7. I had a lot of Deer around last year and this past winter everywhere I walked on my property it was Coyote tracks covering the entire property. This year I am seeing a lot less deer than last year.

I also live very close to the Chippewa Consevation Park

We put a trail camera near an adult coyote den. Over the course of the summer the parents brought back 28 deer fawns for the pups to eat. They can do a number on deer.

  8. But there are these things called boilies and the netting bags that dissolve . I have had some experience fishing fo grass carp , but that’s fishing in China for them and that style is totally different  and FEDE55CD-DED5-48C9-9646-91470FD8FA00.jpeg that’s all I have done for carp fishing .

  9. I am new to the Forum and new to the area , having just moved here a couple of weeks ago I have been busy wondering around the place I have moved to . I can’t believe how much wildlife there is around here. Every time I go into the woods to wonder around I find so many deer tracks , coyote ,and raccoons it’s difficult to believe . So far in my back garden I have seen a Coyote , A deer and Turkey ,  I had a idea that would be the case when I first pulled into the driveway and saw the antlers sitting on a rock in the Driveway . The picture of the Deer is from behind one of the Garages . it’s a busy place .

  10. Yes we just moved into the Country a couple of weeks ago . I am across the road from the Welland River and about 1 km down the road from Chippewa conservation area . Lots of wild life on my property . But not sure about how good the fishing is around here

  11. I used to think fishing for carp was simple . It’s not simple at all , I picked up some gear this winter and hopefully I may get a chance to try it out . I think I will start by fishing the boat slip at Wellandport  it’s very close and at least I can sort out the tackle I purchased , ( maybe but I doubt i will get the hang of it ) . I need to stop working and spend some time just doing some fun stuff .

Pssst....I think that fortress too keep "predators" out of the weed.....   B)

that would at least make it more fun . The Chicken wire is not that deep but I bent it on a 90 angle so I am hoping if they dig that will stop them , and there are a lot of rabbits around . Just at the side of the garage and back garden I can normally see 3 or 4 in the evenings and I have no idea about the front of the house or the driveway .
