Erik.T.
Anyone know how or where to catch burbot and whitefish? Is it possible to shore fish for them in the summer? Also where would you go?
smerchly
I used to fish the Lake of Bays in the summer & winter .( 30 yrs ago) I tried to catch a "ling" one day by drifting a 3" minnow in 90 fow . I did get one about a pound & fried it up , but it was a little oily & not as good as the many we got in 30 fow through the ice . I believe you could target them in deep water where they are known to be there . You will have to check the regs. about whitefish .e.g. ,L.Simcoe & I would try jigging spoons or using minnows for them where they are legal to catch . Good luck on your research ! bigugli
They are down good and deep in summer, hugging bottom at depths of 50'+. Not too many spots from shore to access those depths.
