kevin
Rarely are the salmon actually running up river before the closer of the season on the creek September 30.
jordanl
This is true, iv seen one maybe 2 salmon there when the seasons been open but that's it. One of them was decaying and kept putting itself on land, so I kept putting it back in the water, after 4 times it floated sideways back to the bridge. Aside from that, nothing. bigugli
They stopped stocking the 20 Mile creek a long time back. The spawners in Jordan are almost all wild. Because of the lower water levels in the creek, salmon didn't usually run up past the Bailey bridge until early October. At times the run being as late as the second week in November. Up until a few years ago, 20 Mile creek was an open zone for salmon. It now closes the end of September.

You are in error on both points. They may not stock the creek but they still plant 20k off the Beacon boat ramp.

Of all the salmon we've caught at the creek mouth, few were ever clipped. Fish launched off the Beacon do not imprint as well as stock that were once placed directly in the creek. Unless they've restarted the Pacific stocking , the last releases I had known of, through the G&F, were of trout from Normandale.
CLofchik
They never stopped stocking Chinook into 20 Mile, and never stocked them directly into the creek. At that spot they've always gone in at the boat ramp. Clipping is relatively new, only in the last few years have they tried to clip all the Chinook stockers. The fish running now were stocked in the spring of 2009, 25k Ringwood fish reared by Metro East Anglers club went in at the Beacon.
