We must regretfully announce today the passing of the Great and Patriotic Stompin’ Tom Connors. He died this March 6th 2013 with his Family seeing him off. His family have given us a message from Tom that he wanted passed along to all of you upon his death:
“Hello friends, I want all my fans, past, present, or future, to know that without you, there would have not been any Stompin’ Tom.”
“It was a long hard bumpy road, but this great country kept me inspired with it’s beauty, character, and spirit, driving me to keep marching on and devoted to sing about its people and places that make Canada the greatest country in the world.”
“I must now pass the torch, to all of you, to help keep the Maple Leaf flying high, and be the Patriot Canada needs now and in the future.”
“I humbly thank you all, one last time, for allowing me in your homes, I hope I continue to bring a little bit of cheer into your lives from the work I have done.”
Sincerely,
Your Friend always,
Stompin’ Tom Connors

A true Canadian....from the bright red mud. Loved Stompin Tom Connors will be sadly missed, but never forgotten. If we had all the plywood the guy put his boots through you could build a house. A Canadian Legend.

This is truly horrible news. I remember about '93 he played at the arena in the falls. I wanted to make it but couldn't. In the coming years I had hoped that he would make a return. But I still never had the opportunity to get out and see him at a show.

R.I.P.

I met Stompin Tom when I was 10yrs old at the sportsman show....he was selling ford cars at the time & I was amazed at how many people were watching him. He sang the old favorite I've been everywhere and even then you could see he had somthing. Truely a Canadian Icon

Hey Dude , I like the way he did that Hank Snow song ! Half way through this 6 min.video he names a bunch of Ontario towns , and finishes the vid.with East Coast towns/cities . When I want to listen to my favourite entertainers I go on YouTube and click onto the listings & play them in auto . for hours . Tom Conners has 100 songs in the file ......just click and enjoy .........
