DNorton
Just wondering if anyone else is having problems with turtles lately ? Got 4 stupid snappers tonight in 2 hours in 3 different spots. Couldn't get away from the things. Worst of all was fishing 2 rods and my second rod went into the drink because I was trying to untangle the turtle and get the thing on its way. Any suggestions on how to avoid it ? Or is it just common practice to battle these things ?
smerchly
If fishing from shore using 2 rods is a no no , even though I think it should be legal ....like ice fishing ....and some boat fishing allows it, plus run a "cheater line' . The problem from shore is exactly what happened with the snappers . ...One rod can disappear real quick ! ( better to have 2 anglers ). When using baits like worms , minnows , shrimp , (food like baits) , the hungry turtles will want their share . Maybe keeping the bait well off bottom will help .
