Tyler0420 Posted June 26, 2019 Report Posted June 26, 2019 Walked around for 2.5 hours looking for carp to sight fish. Seen a few but no luck. Caught one Rudd looking thing. Going to sit on the bank now and spin fish the rest of the day.
DNorton Posted June 26, 2019 Report Posted June 26, 2019 Do you have to sight fish carp with a fly rod is what I’m wondering I’ve always sight fished them with a fly rod but would chumming and then running wooly bugger or some kind of bread imitation work ?
Tyler0420 Posted June 26, 2019 Author Report Posted June 26, 2019 I’m sure it could help bring them around but they might be feeding on corn rather then flies. It’s worth a shot though.
Tyler0420 Posted June 27, 2019 Author Report Posted June 27, 2019 First fish on the fly rod this year.

Just some Rudd thing. After fly fishing I sat at pier 8 and spin fished carp. After 2.5 hours and realizing I was fishing in 30fow I moved to shallower water over by the boat launch. 2 hours there no fish either.

I probably should of stayed where I was flying fishing and chummed the water and spin fished instead. Atleast I knew there was carp there.
