smerchly
Leave it to the old farts to come up with a way to quickly change lines and help keep wads of line away from birds and animals . (my 'pet' peeve) I was using my heat gun just yesterday to warm up some pot hole filler . A lighter or propane torch will also do the job. This is quick and easy ! ...very short vid. from YT. https://www.youtube.com/shorts/R27sz-1B1kE Tyler0420 and Fish Farmer

genec
Thats a neat idea! I always just take the spool off the reel, throw it in a boot, and stand over it pulling it off hand over hand. Gonna use the drill and wire from now on.
DaveC
Ive been doing that forever. Only i use a spade bit and a spool. I spin it off, then i spin it on backwards on my float reel...putting the front part of the line that usually has the twists on the reel first. That way i get to use both ends of the line on my reel before chucking it. Tyler0420 and smerchly
smerchly
I always reverse my lines , if I like the line . The sun and heat and fishing rocky bottoms does a job on the lines . I have tested some older mono by tying a simple one loop knot to check the breaking point . Fish Farmer
