smerchly Posted February 15, 2023 Report Share Posted February 15, 2023 NOT looking good for "icing" smelts this year unless we take the canoe/yaks to our smelt holes .... The pike I caught at P.Dal. had 2 smelts in it's gut , so there may be some in the harbour feeding the trout also ? Or , did the pike get them from the lake recently ? They look fresh (could have saved them for dinner) ... I didn't pack the ice rods away, yet .....they are on "stand by" ....March can be a sob sometimes as we wait to get some action with the long rods.
