Port_D_Guy
Interesting behavior and observations. Some things to note when not catching. (even though they may be looking at your bait) rab546 and Spiel
smerchly
I prefer to keep my baits moving . I think the lures or live baits entices them to strike before their meal vanishes . Bottom feeders like cats and carp take more time to do the sniff test and stink doesn't matter .
Tyler0420
I’ve never fished dead baits. One day I’ll try it.
smerchly
I have a few bags of salted minnows of various sizes but haven't had much luck with them. I have had some luck using frozen shrimp as they seem to be attracted to the scent . Many of the people I see using dead baits for pike are fishing overseas where live bait may be prohibited. My fav. is pike fishing with live bait and a float ....relaxing , akin to carp fishing .

I fish large cut sucker bait for Channel Cat's and have on occasion caught Pike and Bowfin using it. smerchly
