I heard letting your spoon charge in natural sunlight during the day will allow it to glow for some time.

      Bryan

My Oakleys are polarized, I would never fish without them.. its quiet the difference having good sun glasses fishing..

  4. saw a charter boat at port today, the guy got a nice salmon, so he felletsit right on the boat and throws the head tair spine and guts into the water.. is this normal?

i understand that for sure, it just seems that as a fishing charter you need to show the standards that you want others to follow. throwing a whole fish minus what you take to eat then throwing it into the water seems wrong in my opinion. but if thats allowed then i wont argue it

    3. miller

      miller

once i fillet my catch i generally throw the remains in the water as well. birds and other animals feed off it and its from those waters in the first place. plus id rather not have a reaking garbage bin after a couple days

      smerchly

I freeze the guts until garbage day .

Stay home or try somewhere else, as of right now the river flow is around 60 cfs, I wouldn't go above 40 cfs

      niagarangler89

Dude, we were fishing the 12 tonight and heard two splashes about 15 minutes apart that literally sounded like cannonballs falling into the water. The only other time we've heard that was last year during the salmon run in Port D. We thought we were going crazy and figured they must have been big rocks falling into the water. Now I'm thinking they could've actually been salmon??

    3. jordanl

      jordanl

would they let me fly fish for the bass with my voucher? or do you have to use there rods?.. and thats still not bad. so you catch what you want and before you leave they weigh it out and you pay? thanks for the helpful reply cplimmer

  17. anybody ever use buzz bombs on the piers for chinooks? seem like a good alternative to spoons

    1. Show previous comments  1 more
    2. jordanl

they are the primary chinook lure here in sault saint marie, never heard of them till i moved here

    3. Seanook

      Seanook

How would you present them? Some kind of jigging pattern?

    4. jordanl

      jordanl

toss them like a spoon, they flutter pretty nice actually, they are heavy so they get to the strike zone but a light reel in flutters them, and they come in glow so i figure it would be better then a salmon spoon when fishing places like port, just wondering is anybodys used them

  18. would there be salmon/trout in frenchmans and black creek yet? or are they at the mouth of the creeks? tips?

      Snags

I would doubt it but you never know ... i got a creek by my place that goes into the lake ... no more than 6 inches deep at spots but you find an assortment of rainbows and browns in it come fall and spring.
