I don't have any info on specs down here but did chase them in the spring north of Huntsville and west of Algonquin Park in the spring. We would fight off the black flies and fish the small streams and beaver ponds along the side of the back roads. Which reminds me, I have to do that again some day!!

Bubba, sounds exactly my neck of the woods where my family summer place is.  If you head up that way let me know!

you are right Capt.....I have put many items out at the curb , from flower bulbs to old appliances . Some guy comes by regularly and picks up any metal item left there , usually the same day .  But these two items were very heavy to bring up from the basement stairs . I would never ask anyone to do that . I'm glad to see it gone !

Next time you need a hand with something heavy like that you let me know. We will get it to your curb. Save you some money for more fishing tackle $$$$ :)

I'll have to add another $400. to that  ..... I called "Just Junk" to remove a 45 year old freezer (still works , but leaks) , and an old fridge from my basements (10 steps straight down) I removed all the doors and hardware and took  2 doors off hinges and the bannister for easier removal . Bill came to about $385. & I added a $20 tip since they busted their back getting up those %@#&*#!@!!!  stairs !  The government even makes $$$ from"junk" . It's nice to have more room for my tackle shop !   B)

Smerch, are there not any scrappers around to come and get it for free ?  In my neck of the woods I put appliances at the curb and someone just comes and gets it…..I don’t even have to make a call.  I put my old fridge out 3 weeks ago, gone in less than an hour ! Free!

I live in allanburg and weve had the same male and female around for a few years now ...well at least i believe theyre the same...only ever see them together at night and separated in daylight hours

Could be the same onesFK. Foxes however do have a short lifespan 4ish years I believe. I want to say the ones I always see are the ones from previous years as well.

  5. My neighbourhood has had foxes in it for years and I live in the city (Stoney Creek). I’ve witnessed multiple litters now. They have made homes under porches, sheds etc. I don’t have a problem with them but others do….people with dogs/cats etc. Last summer I peeled someone’s cat out of the mouth of a fox 😳.  I see a fox pretty much daily here and up until about 2020 I had never saw one around. Here’s one from this March staring at my daughter waving to it through the winter.

Maybe he fell out with engine on, without a life jacket on, and the boat kept going.

I believe this exact same thing was thought about a good friend of mine 7 years ago.

Well , that was happening today as my daughter fished from the dock where the pike , bass ,carp etc. like to play .

She will soon show up the "old man" and send me a picture of some pike !

You can see the fishing rod ....but the Budweiser must be in her hand .....

Call me negative but when I see the gov't giving me something back I wonder where they are going to take something from me (and we all know they are - or will be).

I’m with you. They’ll find a way to recoup that money from us somewhere else.

If the perch population is struggling so much why not put a ban on commercial fishing for a few years until it comes back up?  Other places have done it. I may be wrong but I don't think commercial fishing is allowed on US side of erie?

That too, but also put a lower limit on perch for the recreational anglers. There’s no reason that a boat of 3 guys need 150 perch an outing. A lot of these guys do it over and over again as well while the perch fishing is hot.

The rise of the walleye population could be a contributing factor. Walleye feed heavily on perch.

    HA !  I'll keep it handy  !

As a hunter from way back you would know what the pin was for . If your father hunted , he would tell you .....

BTW ....I still have my first hunting coat , still fits perfect & in very good condition with a heavy steel zipper , hoodie , game pouch , &  made in Canada .

    I bought it at Russ Mosher's Sporting goods on St.Paul St. 1959 -60  when I was 16.

Old time small game hunters would remember this big diaper pin .  :D

Thanks again .....I checked it out , priced the sizes at $40 , but it looks like another $125 for delivery to Canada .

    I'll check local places . I am within a mile of C.Tire , Home Hardware, Pr.Auto .

Son in law works at a plastic sheet making place in Thorold ....next door to the boat repair shop ...hmmmmmm  ....

You’re welcome Smerch. Your son in law should know exactly what the stuff is and where to get it.

    happy jimmy rigging!

I'm trying to find info on this stuff Capt . What is it called ? I  want to see if it comes in different thicknesses and how easy to bend . I can easily remove the skis and work on it in my warm basement . I'm thinking tin may freeze up on the ice too easily .

Smerch, I found this website that you can customize an order and ships to Canada. If you read on the side, one of the uses says sled runners! https://www.professionalplastics.com/PuckBoardsHockeyHDPEfacing_KickPlateCapRail

You can likely find some of this stuff at Canadian tire or a sports store. It’s used as fake ice to use for hockey practice etc.

  13. Nice carp Daryl!

Not a carp fisherman but today I stopped at the waters edge in grimsby….I make a weekly trip to 50 point market for some goodies.  Many carp along the shore 2-4 feet cruising and many with their head down a** up….like the way I prefer my w…Never mind …. Assume they are in shallow feeding?
