Mike Pike
Congratulations to Jay, Brandon and everyone who helped put on such a terrific event! And to the winners, Bowen and Brandon, who seem to know their way around the harbour when it comes to hooking into fish! Sure hope I can participate in the next one 'cuz it looks like a lot of fun with lots of good folks.

knightfisher
Well done Bowen on winning first and good job Brandon on second With about an hour to go in the derby, I was talking to Bowen and Robbie. Bowen would cast out and then crouch down and say ''come on trout'' a few times. He kept this up for a bit, then fish on. Talk about intention. It took at least five minutes before we even got a glimse of it, and everyone stopped fishing and waited. A few more minutes passed and we saw it again and knew it was a good size. Finally netted and a quick weigh, we knew he had the leader, and off to the scales Bowen goes. Comes back and continues to fish for a bit, but you could tell that was the longest half an hour Bowen had to wait for. Well done again Bowen, was a pleasure watching you land that trout. Also I want to say congrats to Brandon and Jay for another successful derby This is fantastic what these two newbies to the board have started. Their first derby had 20 people, second had 23 and this one had 26 people entered and fishing. It also attracted others who came down, to fish, but did not enter. In my estimation these two guys have done the best and a fantastic job, by far, in getting people together for some fishing and good times. Well done guys and keep up the great effort This is also mentioned in Nitro's latest post.
feldie
Another great derby, had a great time, thanks Jay & Brandon. Congrats to Bowen and Brandon, nice fish. Still haven't caught a trout while fishing for trout, have to ask Bowen for some pointers on fishing with roe next time I see him, since I'm having no luck with spoons or lures. Freakin MinnowMike caught a 1/2lb rainbow today with a freakin Tube Jig, dude has caught every kind of fish on a tube jig except a salmon, yet. See you all at the next derby
Snoopy23
Thanks to everyone that helped put on this derby and to all those who entered...Congrats Bowen and Brandon FishinFeldie is just upset that I caught and he didn't...He didn't think it was possible to catch on a tube jig and I proved him wrong...Give me a bit more credit, I didn't weigh the fish but I'm sure it was over a pound, it was about 14"...One more species to catch on a tube jig and I'll have caught at least one of everything I've ever fished for on tubes...Anyways, had a great time and I can't wait for the next one...I'm sure I'll see some of you guys at Port before then
