Winter solstice has come and gone

Now the days will continue to get longer, giving us more time for fishing

I'm looking forward to staying out longer today ....... Funny thing about the solstice , you would think since the north pole is tipped the farthest point away from the sun , it should be the coldest point of the year , but February is prob. the coldest month while we have gained another hour or so of daylight . There are many things that factor into this for sure , like the cooling off of land & sea and giving off no heat .....
