niagarangler89
Inspired by some recent season reviews, I thought it'd be cool to see some of your best fish of 2012. Here are some of my best:Black Redhorse (Sucker) Common Carp Channel catfish Sheepshead Bluegill (Sunfish) Smallmouth Bass Largemouth Bass Lake Trout Rainbow Trout (Steelhead) Brown Trout Chinook Salmon

niagarangler89
Thanks fellas! That smallie was definitely a looker lol. Mick, there are tons in the pool in the summer...super aggressive too. That one hit a spoon and I've caught another on a jointed minnow.

Way to go Steve, man I havent seen a sheephead since i was a kid!!!!! I'll 2nd all that , plus , all those fish are fine specimens of what Niagara has to offer .....so much diversity ! That sucker is HUGE !! Chefmick , I can't believe you haven't hooked into a sheephead , they are everywhere I fish in Niagara ! They actually fight like a sturgeon , hugging the bottom but they run on high test like a salmon for the first few runs .lol It looks like you had a great year Steve and have already set the bar high for this year ......I wish you luck (skill) in raising the bar this year . We are so lucky to have this kind of diversity right in our own backyards. Thanks for the kind words, Bill! Just name a time in the summer you want to get down there and we'll do a trip! NICE POST! TY No prob! I figured there were others out there suffering from the extended winter/lack of fishing blues, so I thought some pictures might help. That sucker was actually the only fish up there that I didn't catch around the Niagara region...it was from the Thames in London. The run was unreal last spring! Really good numbers as well as giants. Also love the variation in colours...caught some surprisingly nice looking suckers lol. This one was my favourite:

We sure do share some similar fishing styles. I'm an equal opportunist. Lots of talk right now about the upcoming "TROUT OPENER" .... lol Don't get me wrong, been a steelheader for many years now However, never really appreciated the April Opener, cause for me that is the END of the SEASON. Fall and winter is my Trout time. Spring is all about the: SUCKERs, CATS, ... CARP. Then it's: PIKE, WALLEYE, BASS NICE PIC!
