Might be a weird question..but is there anything big in there :P?

My girlfriend and I went there yesterday evening..I wasn't sure if there was even fish in there... >_>

...low and behold we were pulling out year old bass every couple casts....so...there' bass in there..but ..where are they coming from?..I see the water go over the mill....I don't see it connected to any big water source...and I see it's MAYBE 4-5ft deep....MAYBE

The channel above the water slide comes from the canal at Allanburg  .There's a variety of fish in the channel and some make their way to the Mill , mostly small fish including rock bass , the odd small pike or smallie ....nothing of any size .....

My girlfriend was having a blast because we've been having such a hard time catching bass and...sure they were small..like 6" or so...but she was reeling them in seems every 2 or 3 casts..a lot of the time shed get hits and miss...I put a tiny spoon on and got a big rock bass...then it got dark and left because we couldn't see.

Sure they were tiny..but was really fun just tossing a line in and boom hit after hit...I guess no one really fishes there as they don't see the point..they haven't seen lures before and they hit just about anything you move by their face

Also the rockbass I caught had a big chunk bitten off the top of it..healed over for a while now..told my GF probably a small pike...but..I can't wrap my head around how it would have gotten in there...also the rock bass was decent size I'd imagine a few years old..

the water there is shallow I thought to myself that wouldn't it just freeze over and kill all the fish in there..I dunno..

would be nice to find a place like that with big fish.. :P

and caught this one this morning at Marlatts :D

The ponds on the other side of the road are loaded with fish. Smallies . Largies.pike.musky perch crappie and carp. When I was younger and didn't care for the law i did not trespass over there and I did not catch any of the above fish. ?...........there are some real hogs over there...........I mean there isn't...... I did ice fish it once and killed the perch and had a nice musky too but the police showed up and I was escorted off.... No ticket tho I got lucky..... Young and dumb.... Now I got kids and it's just not worth it......... However it totally was back than lol .         That water comes from Gibby

They drain the pond at the morningstar mill for winter so they flush those fish into the 12.

If you find anything of size enjoy but it will mostly be small fish that find their way into the pond.  I have seen snot rockets (8 inch pike) but in that small pond only a few would be allowed to exist.

The stream feeding the mill originates from L.Erie - canal -Gibson - Moodie-12Mile -Martindale -L.Ont . It is used for a bypass to keep the reservoir at a constant level which feeds the water works commission adjacent to the Mill pond .

... here's some stuff about the mill pond that was in the Standard last year . ...It was bone dry as they were working on the berm above the old dilapidated water slide ,  which has rotted away.....

Went all around lake gibson today..

had a pike on a small mepps..was exciting...only to lose it mid fight...was a #3 and it was thrashing pretty hard so ..eh..kind of expected it with the littles hooks :(

caught my first smallmouth ever :D!...

lost a bigger smallmouth (would have been two in a row)

....and saw...I......THINK......was a Muskie...basking by the shore in lake moodie. Parked on Decew road next to the trail and walked up the stones...I immediately ran back and grabbed my rod...

..............................................and caught a bass no bigger than my pinky......

and now he's in my aquarium

:D

Oh..my..god..

what a DAY.

Foul hooked a small bass in the eye.

Had a pike follow at lake gibson by decew/merritville..and a big largemouth...both followed all the way but made a turn and didn't go for it :(

...and

.......................lost a trophy sized rockbass.

Yea a rock bass.

Hooked him under the bridge at decew that goes into lake moodie. Lost my doo-doo when he jumped out of the water and tossed the hook.

Something like "OH MY GOD I DIDN'T EVEN KNOW THEY GOT THAT BIG"

The video does NOT do it justice!!
