boogaloo Posted November 28, 2016 Report Share Posted November 28, 2016 I have seen similar "growths" on Pickerel from other water bodies. It may be that the fish has been caught before and held by the gills. Many warm water species like Bass and Pickerel develop growths like that after being handled. Nothing to worry about, just cut around if it in the meat.
