deetch
Need your input. Other than the stuff I can read on line does anyone have experience with both of these reels? Looking at purchasing one of them. Strictly for trout fishing the lower river. I’m not a bass guy.
toaster
Both reels are good. Buy the better deal
petersaban
Great reels and the only spinning reels I own. Perfect pairing with the shimano zodias rods
deetch
Went with the Stradic. The Vanford was also amazing all carbon fibre and light as a feather. The 2024 Stradic has a lot of the same parts as a Stella. I’m not saying that the Stradic is comparable to a Stella. Stradic 300 bucks, Stella 1100 bucks toaster
Bass-turd
I recently bought a couple stradic 3000XGs, seem like great reels for the couple times I've had them out, never tried the vanford so cant speak to that one. I'm not surprised about the stradic sharing parts with the stella, good to know, that's why I almost never buy the top model of anything
smerchly
My "mature" Stradic 4000 was bought at John Rasso's shop back in the 80's for $120. , if my memory is still intact . I have used it for salmon with my custom 8' (Don Furman) rod. It was serviced (cleaned, greased , ect. by Paula (NFN) about 10 yrs. ago), and it had a new pickup arm installed at Grimsby Tackle . It has been used for drifting for trout and battling pike ,cats and carp . The drag is still smooth and still a pleasure to use . I also like my Shimano 2000 for perching , Keep them clean and lubed and you will be happy.
