This will make him look good. Using this ploy of ridding guns just might give him the edge he needs in 2019. Regardless if he wins or not, eventually all guns will be illegal. T Years ago when the gun registration was first announced, a buddy of mine in central Ont. had a couple of semi-auto rifles that he refused to register. He hid them behind drywall in one of the rooms in his house, and said "I know where they are if I need them, but I'll be dammed if the gov't. will ever see them or know of them!" He died this past spring, and, to my knowledge, no one else knows that the guns are still behind the wall! They will be a real surprise find if a new owner ever decides to renovate!! Snags Posted November 21, 2018 Report Share Posted November 21, 2018 Canada is run by a joke of a leadership group, it is more about "equality" and making sure the "snowflakes aren't crying" than actually looking at the real issues or fixing real problems. Taking a hard stance with guns, will only affect those who are law abiding citizens, the criminals won't suddenly wake-up one morning and think "**** I need to turn my gun in" ... Our current federal government's goal is acceptance of one another and not bettering the country for the whole, so where does banning guns fit in ... would it better the country ... no, it will probably just give more people criminal records for not having their gun paperwork in proper order and the right Is dotted and Ts crossed. Will it make the unemployed welfare collecting twitter users happy? Yes it will and that is who the government wants a vote from ... they obviously don't care about those who are in the working class and don't have time for all the social media hoopla that exists. Looking at some of the things said at a federal level, the federal government does not care about the quality of jobs (and by quality, I am referencing salary), solely the quantity, is there a difference between 10 $100,000 jobs and 50 $20,000 jobs ... to the current government ... NO, and they would be more than happy with each and every Canadian earning a meager wage which they will tax (looking at you, Carbon Tax) to hell. The carbon tax is going to destroy an economy and a country that is not in debt through CO2 emissions. If the tax winds up being pushed down the throats of the provinces who don't like it ... there will be job loss and lots of it. There will be housing loss and people being pushed to the streets because they can't afford bills. Will that large coffee from timmies still be $2? No chance in hell, it will get a slight increase in price because the store will be paying more for everything, and why should the store absorb the costs, they need a minimum return on their products to make the business a viable option to run. The government chose to legalize pot, did they do it because the citizens were demanding it? No. Did they do it because they wanted to decrease citizens with a criminal record? No. It was done for tax purposes secondarily, the primary reason being that knowing it would push plenty of people out to vote who normally would not vote and that would be a vote for the liberal leadership. In my book the vote was bought solely on the "pot legalization promise". That is also what the gun ban would be about ... win the vote from the major city centers and screw the others. The current government is akin to a team brought into a company to assess and cut dead weight ... they are going for the easy and simple wins. There was a day when you landed in jail for making booze , gambling in your basement or selling dope . NOW , we have booze sold everywhere ( sports) , casinos where you can lose your shirt , and weed sold for the purpose to get stoned . They make tons of money from these vices ! The idea of banning guns is similar to the banning of the Staff Terrier dogs .....They know that 90 to 99 % of the population doesn't have one , so it is very easy to exaggerate & scare people to get them on side . They also cater to the women and minorities to easily get their votes ! ( as Snags said " going for the easy and simple wins ) The good news is , we can change it as we have seen lately here in Ontario ...... Numbers count , so we need to use logic , stay away from name calling and spread the word . We have alternative ways to spread the word now . The "fake news" is not on our side ! There are much bigger fish out there to go after like the terrorists who use bombs , vehicles, drugs and poisons to kill many innocent people. The crooks would thank our leader (sic) for making it easier for them to operate . If hunters want to continue with their traditional rights they need to be very vocal and organize ..... OUR right to organize and protest is one of the great things about our rights in Canada, but I seen on the news tonight people tried to protest infront of the new finance ministers office(Bill Morneau) and they called the cops and the cops dispersed the peaceful protesters (which is against our right to peaceful assembly and protest btw) the "Ford" party is getting idea's and tactics from TRUMP I think . p.s I'm not a stout supporter of any party , I support and disapprove things from all of the "big three party's" , I'm just a concerned logical fisherman person ,"I'm a nature supporter eg laws of nature " ,"I'm A fossil fuel supporter and A global warming supporter "reference the first law of thermodynamics (grade 9 science stuff) " , " alien's" , "samsquanch " " Nessey" etc . When any government is in power they are not concerned about any other individual's (the people's collective beliefs/thoughts/rights) THEY will TRY and do what they want to do for what ever reason(s) eg try to ban firearms (U.S/Canada/U.K/New Zealand/Austrailia and Russia and china censorship of the free speech internet to keep their population "dumbed down" and large parts of Africa and middle east depriving woman of schooling/learning , driving, marriage, religion,etc. One of the big points I am trying to point out here is that the positions of power are trying to dictate our collective human destiny(s) and ultimately control the $hit out of us. The powers at be can never take our guns or beliefs away from us law abiding citizens here ,no matter how hard they try it will not happen. because we are adjacency matrix , because we have more heart than them , us the people make up this amazing country we live in . Can they make gun's illegal in Canada one day ? maybe! , can they TRY to take our gun's away from us? maybe! We would also end up with many more underground guns which would be bad for all of us . As I said in the beginning....they tried this before at a huge cost to ALL Canadians , but it's apparent the cost doesn't matter . Maybe their weed trick will work ...."dumming us down" to make us all happy happy...... or , by giving certain news media $600,000 to report "favourable" news to rebuff the "fake" news we have been eating for many years ......
