  1. That sounds like pretty unusual behaviour for a Coyote unless it was so focused on a potential meal it didn't notice you. Would have been cool to see though. They don't allow hunting them in the Park, so maybe he's a local one that is getting a bit too brave for it's own good?
  2. Also check out the Grand River Conservation Authority website for river flow data before you go. It will give you a multi day history of water flow rates, so you can gauge whether it is fishable or not. If there were recent rains and the flow rates are heading up, or are up, stay home. Learned this the hard way a few times. Another really good resource is the Hatch Charts on Grand River Troutfitter's website. It will definitely help you match the hatch. All barbless hooks and catch and release until you hit the Elora Gorge I believe.
  3. Lol, no that wasn't me. Missed out on that one!
  4. Yes what a gong show! I hate launching there my grump old man syndrome is sure to kick in, not at the newbies but at the rude and inconsiderate that like to bud in line, hog the dock, etc. Not to mention any offenders, but if you see someone yelling at a jetski or bass boat operator stop by and say hi!
  5. Is there an option to send a picture and let them figure it out?😎
  6. Good looking deer woods, do you have any plans for food plots etc., yet? Maybe a new stand or two for sure by the sounds of that one!
  7. Good looking bird Genec! Glad to see your plan came through for you.
  8. I use mine manually just adjusting with remote until I'm happy with the bearing I'm on. I use mine more to counteract the affects of a head or cross wind when trolling. With the auto track and other features I'm sure there are more advanced ways of doing it, but this works for me. You'd really have to play with it getting the tiller set up to track in a straight line or they would always be fighting each other.
  9. Hey Shoemaker, can I come over on Sunday morning and hang out in your shed? LOL
  10. Hey Duncan, nice looking rig and yes that's a bummer. Just to help you out, I'd be willing to trade you a 16 foot freighter canoe with 4hp Yamaha on the back. Fresh coat of paint just before last years moose hunt, just needs a few touch ups now and would be mint. You can launch anywhere, no ramp required, no muss no fuss. I'd even throw in a case of beer for good measure. P.s. If you go for my generous offer, can I borrow the canoe this fall? 🤪
  11. Sounds like an exciting outing. Don't worry. all us guys tend to overestimate the size of fish, among other things and underestimate the cost of gear and the number of beer we had when together with friends, so it all balances out in the end.
  12. There is nowhere for gas prices to go but up. With the increased carbon taxes last year and again this year most didn't really notice or care as the gas price was so artificially low. As the economy improves, demand goes up, crude prices go up and carbon taxes keep increasing as the Liberals have clearly stated that they will, fuel costs will continue to rise and the cost of everything will increase along with them. The carbon taxes stated goal is to make fuel prices high enough to cause enough pain to make people cut back on use. The real goal is squeeze more of our hard earned money to help fund the socialist agenda of our government. The government is on a spending spree to buy votes, when the party if over taxpayers are going to have one hell of a hangover especially if you didn't get invited to the party.
  13. If you are thinking of heading to the upper grand, check out the flow charts on the Grand River Conservation Authority website before you leave. It shows the flow rates, it is pretty much live and shows flow levels going back a week or so so you can gauge if it is fishable. Brutal to drive up there only to find out the water is too high to fish. It's the fly fishing equivalent of checking the weather buoy out on the lake.
  14. I haven't fished Whiteman's for years, heavily fished and as Tyler said primarily Rainbow Par and chubs. Any of the access points on the upper grand in Fergus are good.
  15. I just picked up two 27 series and a 24 for a cranking battery from Costco. Great price and reviews. When the price comes down on Lithium batteries I would sure be tempted to go that way, just can't justify it now with the price. The main benefit of an AGM as I see it is that it can handle being placed in odd positions, like on its side, if you had to in you Yak.
