  1. Last time I had worms I got in trouble for dragging my butt all over the carpet😯
  2. Bring on the cold ....I'm in
  3. Since the cold water season is approaching.....salmon....trout ect...late season walleye...perch ...pike.....and no one has added to this thread in a long time and might be sick of summer flavored slubby soft meat muddy tasting fish they battered at camp chased by 10 beers because it was fun with your buddies😆.....take your favorite fish fillet ( works great with salmon and trout)......put your fillets in parchment paper...if skin on...skin side down ......juillene some carrots.... celery.....peppers ....onion......a little bit of dill...black pepper....top with a pat of butter..(cooking spray).....then a slice of lemon.....wrap it up tight in the parchment paper....bake in the oven for 15 mins......also works great on the smoker....keep it at about 200 degrees( the parchment won't burn at that temp) cook for about 45 mins and enjoy......also works great on bbq....wrap your parchment in foil....cook on regular bbq heat for 10 mins....the foil protects the parchment from burning....and the parchment holds the juice and flavor in........and hey guys...as hunting season is slowly approaching for a bunch of you..it would be great to learn some ole time favorites as well...mmmmmmm.....yummmm....meat season

Oddly never had that problem when I had my old legend...🤔....I solved that issue by using my boat all winter long on the river😲😆....my old neighbor used to think I was nuts....if I wasn't using both my boats up at the trailer at the time I would just use my 14 foot tinner at the trailer and the bigger one stayed home during the summer weather...then the neighbors would see us start to use it when the snow started to fly😆.......every once in a while I would toss him a fresh caught Steelie from the live well......it would be flopping around in his driveway as he made me the trade for a bottle or 2 of his red " wine"....more like whiskey potent....bottle or 2 of that and I would be the one flopping around in the driveway🤣....it was a good trade for a cold day on the river....and the look at n his face was priceless when we had to dig 3 feet of snow from around the boat before we pulled out
  5. Looks like some cool weather ahead...that should help..I'm looking forward to some good adventures...and yep .. topped up on a couple floats too Bill...lol...have some worms in the fridge
  6. How's it going man...lots of great people on here....many of us been members for many years....I think I'm pushing like 15....haha...
  7. I think I would have done alot better there with some good size minnows.....there was lots of bait stirring far out.....I'm pretty sure I saw what was a huge musky surface....and to boot...that bass had an old big bite scar on it
  8. Now that the weather is starting to cool off...I'm starting to get the bug ...decided to head out for a few cast after work this morning...nothing major to write home about...drowned some worms but was only catching sun fish....put a buzz bait on and winded up with this little guy
  9. I'm going to scope out a couple spots tomorrow after work ..will let you know how I make out....I haven't had time to check out any minnow catching spots yet....plan is some lure chucking and floating a worm so far...does Pete's have minnows?
  10. Great learning tool for sure ..and a great way to give back to our sport.....when I was a trustee on the board for the Stevensville conservation club back in the day ..I had a great time for a few years volunteering with the MNR electro fishing then raising walleye when the Welland river rehab project was going on ....also attended meetings here and the at the scgf....saw parts of the efforts smerch and the others where making there....it's also a great way to meet like minded people .....and nice to hear from you too Tyler...I know it's been a while....I rarely fish the hot weather season hence no reports....lol.. but now that the cool weather is approaching I shall be participating a bunch more.....and nice pic of you there smerch hand feeding the shark cage like that...lol
  11. I've been out with a few of these guys over the years ...I know!!!! But at least the fish are good looking😲😁

I could share some pics...but then I would need my hunting license because in about October I would be having to sit in my backyard all day with a shot gun 😲😱🤔😉🤣
  13. Here's a great way to cook up venison.....I'm not the best on an actual recipe in regards to quantity and such although I'm actually a formally trained chef with many years under my belt ...lol ...more like guidelines to cook anything from dinner for 2 to 200.....take your tenderloin or backstraps......butterfly it open like you would to stuff it.....stuff it with a mixture of a few fresh blueberries....diced apple...dried cranberries....some diced dried apricot....celery and onion....tie it up or toothpick it together....oven grill or broiler....cook it to a nice solid medium ( you don't have to cook the crap out of most game that some people think).....remove the roast from the pan .....take the pan all the drippings ..fallen out fruit ect.....deglaze the pan with a splash of red wine....when the wine boils off for a min ....add some water and your favorite brown gravy mix to the pan accordingly
  14. There's always that old trick when you bread fish to throw a few of your favorite flavor potato chips crushed up in the bread crumbs.......or if you already have a favorite way of cooking up a salmon steak......or big trout steak....use your cheese grater and grind up some potatoes or sweet potatoes.....squeeze all the water out in a towel.....put in a bowl.....mix in some lemon pepper....dill.....a little bit of flower.....crack an egg in there....mix it all up....take your fish steak ....meat side up...dip in flour....then smush it right into your potato mix.....flip it up ...pack another nice wad on top........fry it in a frying pan with some oil..... healthier virsion... spray the crap out of the crust with cooking spray and fry it...or put it potatoe.... side down on parchment in the oven......by the time your crust is golden brown.... flip it over skin side down for like 5 mins
  15. Hey there Bigug... Give'r eh!!!...all the way from Saskatchemoo-on...teasing us with dinner...been a long time since I had a fresh caught fresh cooked shore lunch with you.....what say you fly us in for dinner?....and being the nice guy I am....I will gratefully save you a whole bunch of work and a sore arm and volunteer to help you put a few on the chopping block free of charge😉

    Nice set up Tyler
  17. How goes Dan?....been a long time...my daughter and her boyfriend hang out with Henry some times....I was out here in st Catherine's getting schooled by your dad a few weeks back....no reports from me in a bit cuz I haven't had much time for fishing....some of them buck store lures aren't that bad.....good to give a reminder on the fish sanctuary spots.... unfortunately the " fishtards" generally aren't eligible to read this part of the forum.... 😂
  18. Hey guys.....I think I may have tried to suggest the idea on here over the last few years.....but years back on here I started a thread where we could all share some favorite recipes for cooking up our fish and game.....some of the old school members may remember...I started it off as The Fillet Show... And a whole bunch of us shared in a bunch of great ideas...pics...pointers...old secret recipes ect....even ways to prep our catch...like for example the 5 fillet way to clean a pike....how to clean and prep game or something we may have foraged.... Do any of you old timers remember the recipe I shared where I made a lasagna out of a puffball I found using thin slices of the puffball as the " noodles"?????.....I'm just putting it out there to see if any of you are interested in starting up something like that again?
  19. Not too far away from my place either....we get our share of vagrant traffic with having a park in the back yard...a few summers ago some people " living" in the bushes pretty much right behind my house decided it would be a good idea for one of them to come into our complex...strip down naked and have a shower with the hose in my neighbor's front yard😲😲.....cops where called but basically said all they could do is give them a trespassing fine if caught.....they searched around but only found a few discarded belongings and some needles and empty drug packages......it's a shame we have to watch out for that with all the kids around here.....there's also been a few instances of violence in the park where one of my neighbors was threatened with a knife trying to stop a bunch of kids beating up a teenage girl...and a gang of kids egging the kid on with the knife saying" stab him".....
  20. That's awesome you got to reconnect with an old time fishing friend...share some old memories...make some new ones along the way
  21. I'm surprised they where electro fishing so late....they must be trying to do a survey of sorts ...we did it for a couple weeks in late April for a few years back when I helped with the walleye stocking project
  22. Couple nice ones there Bruce...when the fat cats are thick the eyes get a little trickier in there for sure...I've even tried in the past in places I've seen lots when I electro fished the river with the MNR and came out empty....lol
  23. Nice ..that in the high teens all day
  24. Thanks again for picking me up...was a fun morning with some decent action...no toothies this time....who knows what that break off I had today when my line got hung up...it was plenty big enough to take drag ..I should have walked with it.....good guess in the size of those nicer perch..decided to give them a measure before they went under the knife.....12 incher perch is good any day....time for bed for this guy now ...work tonight...booo....I can dream of the big one that got away today
