  1. A couple shots of that room Cliff mentioned...we checked in quick...went back fishing.....came back that night ...went holy crap...this place is way too nice....had we known it was that nice before hand we may have stopped to grill up some of the days catch with a juicy steak on the side....but it was a great place to enjoy a few cold ones and watch the big storm that rolled in with the lightning show....but funny rolling in all dirty from fishing ..hiking around...and spot hopping for the whole day....2 king size beds....2 bathrooms... jacuzzi tub...soaker shower...fireplace... living room area with digital tv....deck with a bbq....heck I would have been good with sleeping in the car🤣

  2. That does seem strange for sure on a massive loss like that....I have a friend who has a small hive....his are for an alternative medical treatment so to speak.....he has had many severe arthritic problems in his hands for many years and uses bee stings as the therapy.....it has been very successful for him...has gained a ton more mobility and pain loss over the last couple years....I know he lost a small hive before...not sure why...but if I talk to him he may have a bit of insight

  3. That's good to hear about the trailer.... especially after all the years up there....sad to say but besides them complying with local mandates... they probably where putting a few of thier own rules in place...I'm sure they learned a lesson or 2 when people started pulling out of the park...or putting thier trailers up for sale....they realize it's big business these days.... unfortunately for some places it's all about the money...years back when I had to let my trailer go it was all about the money.....the original owners where all about the fun and family aspect of the park....due to retiring because of health reasons it turned into all about the money...when the new owners took over they crept up the lot fees so much that most of the people I knew in my 10 years up there pulled out .. specially those of us that had lakefront lots...they priced us out on purpose with the plan of putting up cottages..and took away the year round access turning it to seasonal.....well guess what ...the cottages never happened...they lost alot of long term residents...and ever since the park went way downhill in every aspect including upkeep......it would be a shame that you had to give something up that you value in your life so much because of freedom of choice

  4. That sounds like a plan Bill...time to start getting out more...we share the car and work opposite shifts....I get home 630 am...hand over the car...it's like.." morning Ralph"...."morning Sam"...got multi species gear sorted out and ready to go...from the ultra lite speck gear...to the toothy critters...I'm off tomorrow...might get a chance after 3 or 4 when the car gets back home...lol..I'm off tomorrow

  5. Hey guys...been a super long time...I hope this post works...lol...it's been a crazy time over the last couple years...and working straight nights have definitely put a big damper on fishing....I haven't bothered much fishing some local haunts due to crowds ect...ect ....took the opportunity to enjoy a road trip last weekend for opener to do something a bit different than our local fishery has to offer....great way to beat the crowds...get some hiking in...enjoy some beautiful scenery....and catch a few fish...and enjoy the company of a long time fishing friend along the way ...doesn't get much better than that.....also hoping to catch up and wet a line with a few of you soon....and by the way Tyler...thanks for the help getting back on the board...was somehow not able to get on

I'm pinching the barbs on my body baits,   like Rapalas, Kwickfish , Husky Jerks etc . The 10.5' rod is flexible enough to keep the barbless trebles from slipping out . I have done this with my J13 Raps ....may lose the odd one but those trebles hold the fish well if the line is kept tight .

Never heard about the cola before ....maybe it will work on me when a pike gets it's revenge .....

One of the reasons I dont fish often with body baits for pike...if I do..generally I take the middle hook off..sometimes plus change the tail hook to a single hook....may lose the odd fish..but better than dealing with a mouth full of teeth thrashing around with a bunch of hooks too...lol...and I always feel bad when I see a nice fish with a jaw full of trebles... I also have had a few experiences with muskies in the 50 incher plus range...almost get them in...then just open thier mouth....and off!!!!....not even hooked because of taking the extra hooks off...just too stubborn to let the lure go..haha...its all in the fun, specially with a fish you where releasing anyways......now I want to look for some decent size live bait and bobber action .... one of my favorite ways to seek out the toothies....hopefully be able to share some pics soon now that I finish work at 630am mon through fri...in the meanwhile i dont mind you guys rubbing it in with your reports..lol
