  1. Haven't seen any in a few of my go to spots either.... water is too warm still or something...I been creek fishing a couple times in the last few weeks...only minnow action I have seen is way out.....I have my daughter on the lookout up there too Bill when her and friends go walk and chill by the river

Good old Lyons Creek. Right near me. That bridge is a popular spot

I'm almost 53 and have had decades of adventures up and down there...used to take my daughter there when she was little....watching her have fun yesterday trying to keep up with all the bites was pretty funny....although it's kind of like trying to play road hockey on the 401 now ......car!.......car!......car!.....😆

  3. Its a spot I fished since I was a little kid....and a never know what you will catch spot as well.....I joked with my daughter and told her if I hook something big I was handing her the rod....lol.....it's also a good carp spot Tyler.....it was fun telling my daughter some stories of how me and a couple kids used to ride our bikes all the way out there since I was like 10.....and 43 years later it was a great trip down memory lane today.....I caught my first ever...smallies....large....pike...and bowfin in that spot over the decades.....no huge ones today but we probably caught about 50 little ones....lol

  4. By the way ..happy Thanksgiving everyone....here's something I'm thankful for.....after spending a great weekend with my daughter sharing all weekend between a friend's giving type dinner on Saturday at my house...a family dinner yesterday at my brother's house...my daughter and I thought it would be a great idea to step out and do some fishing on the way to dropping her back home....we waited until the weather cleared up a bit and spent a great afternoon at one of my old fishing haunts.....we drowned some worms and had a totally action packed afternoon...bites every time a line hit the water....she had a blast catching a bunch of Sunnie's and the odd perch in the mix.....no trophies.....but my trophy was watching her have a blast catching fish all afternoon right until we ran out of worms......and I  always know it's a great day and makes me a proud father when my young adult daughter wants to share some time with her dad....lol

  5. Good way to improvise....if you in tangle the jumper cables you can make 4 of those custom holders. .lol...I shot you a pm the other day....and will be trying to get out more often ...we should meet up soon for a few casts

  6. Got out today Bill...nothing major to report...drowned some worms...couple dink perch...a few bluegills and a gobie ..lol...tried to soak the minnow trap for a bit...no minnows to be seen close to shore....any baitfish activity was way out there.....didn't go searching around for bait though...hoping to get out again really soon... depends on the lil woman and my car on work days

Smerch try small creeks for chubs. My local creek is full of them.

Back in the " pike off " days...my chubs came from a ditch on the side of the road...sometimes even broke ice to set the trap.... was great until one day my trap went missing ( guess doing the right thing and leaving my name and phone number attached didn't mean much to them)...that and the fact that it's illegal to tamper with someone's legal means of catching bait.... unfortunately those couple spots I know are a bit out of my neighborhood since moving to st Kitts....lol

  8. Hopefully a nice pike or 2...lol..I have a couple spots in mind and some worms to drown also a bunch of lures to get snagged and lose while I'm waiting for the bait....lol....sometimes the bait catching mission takes way longer and more of a toll than the fishing part...haha

  9. I grew up fishing in there...we would ride our bikes from Stanley ave ...around the top and fish all over....nice rainbows in there too...we would catch all kids of fish down by the dam area..the workers would come out and say hi...remind us to be careful....we used to also put on big rubber boots early in the morning when the water was down....walk way out to check for big carp trapped in the puddles....then get all muddy seeing who could hand wrestle out the biggest one...lol ...part of the fun was the look on mom's face when got back home and walked in the house full of mud and carp slime....haha.....way too many spots on the lower river forever ruined by the almighty tourist dollar.....also a point in time it was nothing to land 100 smallies by the time the water went up in the morning at the maid of the mist....as for the rest of the gorge.... between the non fluctuating water levels ...zip lines....paid parking ..over crowded mess.....gone is the majority of all access to a year round world class fishery....
