It looks like all government/city services are closed as well . Big Bro looking after us .
I'm guessing they are all closed so no one can say they hurt their eyes while at work.....

41 degrees is the magic number for the smelt run.

Tommy the lake temps are still in the low 40s, and the smelt are still running.

A bit of maple syrup on the fillet as it smokes makes for a great tasting piece.
How does one get a piece of said candy.....

Yes lots of shallow spots, however like most of that area down to Cayuga there are all kinds of spots where the rocks create hiding spots for many fish. Lots of holes as well. If fly fishing just keep casting and moving around. I have also caught fish there still fishing with a float. Fish are moving around.

I was in Caledonia about 3 weeks or so ago and not one person fishing there. Passing through York on the way back
I did see a number of people trying their luck there. I have actually fished York more than the dam area with so so luck.

Love the variety of fish in that river.

Take it easy Bill, the healing will take a bit of time.
If you need anything let me know.
I have some 25 year old scotch which might help with the pain.
My Cherokee has tinted windows. Read online that the tint can block most of
the UV rays. Not sure how factual that is, but might be something to research
and get done.

I'll stick to my gas guzzling Cherokee. All she is burning is gas.
My Astro van is also more dependable then anything pictured here.

NOTL population is increasing yearly, perhaps that has something to do with the lower numbers of deer spotted.

Good info on the cameras. If any of you guys find you have too much meat, I'll gladly help lighten the load....just saying....

A few years back Bill-smerch and I were fishing the Grand from the dam down about a mile or so and because I had a motor-electric- on the Sportspal the OPP came along aside us and asked me for my fishing license and boating card. Was surprised they came over to check us out. Motor is a motor I guess.

Did you fish from a boat? What would the be best technique to catching them outta the yak?
- drifting with bait just off bottom
- anchored/fishing around a fallen tree
- anchor/fishing small back Eddie’s in the weeds
or any other ways?
Was in my Sportspal canoe, which has an electric, however I was just drifting with worms bouncing along the bottom. I would drift for a mile or so, and went back to the dam and drifted again.

Fished balsam Saturday. Started out good landed two fish early including a 17.5” largie on topwater. After that couldn’t find any fish and the winds were gusting 30km/h. Tried dragging tubes but didn’t have any jig heads/weights heavy enough to fish bottom properly. Called it a day around noon. I wanted to crack the top 100 and I did!!!! Placed 99th hahaha.
Well done.

Buddy and I caught 3 pike over the last 24 hours. 2 pups and one near 30 inches. Small ones not pic worthy. The 30 inch crushed the lure and much blood. No pic as a result.
