smerchly
HEY , nice going Troutmaster 12 I didn't know that was you ......I could hardly understand you since you were sounded like an auctioneer , still all reved up from landing that beauty male brown ! I also got a nice male brown , on my first cast using a 2" pink worm bait on a 3 way set up (no swivels) . I had it weighed thanks to a fellow who had a digi scale nearby (5 lbs 11 oz) and released it with no pic. Nice to see you out there and I'm glad you got yourself a nice troutie ! marth11
just so you guys dont get a headache on my lure managed to work, let me explain. i tied a 3ft leader of 6lbs test to a snap swivel with a small baitholder hook and a 1/2 oz bell weight about an inch in length i then tossed it (side armed) about 15-20' from the wall then let the current take it it got about near the end when i felt a tug or something and then i thought it was the guy beside mes ( the guy in second photo) line i go ahead and say i got your line again yes again then he says my line is way out there............ you can guess what happened next i started reeling like a mad man to keep my line tight so i didnt loose it i fought it for a good 1-2 mins while yelling GET THE NET JACOB GET THE BLEEPIN NET ( course word has been removed for censorship purposes but you can guess what i said) he starts runnin up the little hill by the wall you know were the wall meets the shore with the net by that time the guy beside me already had it netted we took about 6 pics 2 on my camera phone and like 4 on my friends digi we revied it then realsed it oh yeah JWL the trout also like chatruesse mr twsiter grubs (thats what i used to catch him) so 1 for 1 today

Smokin Joe
Way to go BM12 I told you it was only a matter of time before you got one. Now you know what it's like and what to look for. The first one's always the hardest and I'm sure you'll be getting plenty more now

Guest Rockfish
Nice Brown, bm12, you'll find that alot of guys will change lure colours depending on the water colour or some guys will just stick to what they like. Chartruese and pink in roe bags or in plastics stand out alot in stained water and also a bright white (neon powerbait) can work well. When the water gets crystal clear when the lakes and ponds freeze up and u can see like 7-8 ft down alot of guys will change with the conditions. They'll use more natural colours like a peach colour roe bag to show more of the natural colour of eggs or use a single egg and go to more natural minnow imitating colours in plastics like white, pearl and black. Silver fleck mixed in also works well and bright colours can still work in super clear water if u want to put some time in but more more natural colours seem to help with the odds of catching more, just like the guys that change their streamer colours. I've found that a 3" neon white powerbait twister with a chartruese corkie floater can work really well in stained water but doesn't produce hardly at all in clear water as compared to changing to a pearl twister with a silver/blue corkie. I've also had the best luck in clearer water using spoons in silver/blue and silver/green instead of oranges that I'd use in murky water.
