Jig Head
This neat chubby fish was caught while fishing for crappie down by Allanburg Road. Has red fins which I thought was cool. I've been told it is a shad, roach, rudd, mooneye, or carp. Does anyone have any idea? Thanks

rab546
yes that is definitely a Rudd. I find them a real good looking fish but they are an invasive species so.... They were fun to fish for in the creeks/ponds back in the UK.

WalleyeChaser
Definitely a rudd. And where your fishing you catch tons for the next week or so and as soon as they slow down the carp will be there. I'm down there in the evenings after 11. Silver silverado with a lund boat sticker on the back window. If u see me come say hello
Jig Head
Will do! Thanks for the info, researched into it and says they're invasive...wouldn't shame on it tho it was a stunning sight.
yakfish
Lots of Rudd around. I caught them in 4 different locations last year. I know they're invasive, but I'm not certain what their impact is? I guess I need to do some research.

JoeSchmoe
From the link provided by Fred, it looks to be a big ass golden shiner. They explain the difference... A Rudd had red eyes and a shiner has green. My kid and his friend caught something similar down in a campground around Leamington last summer.
