Musky Hater Update?

Any update as to whether Eddie "Musky Hater" Parent was actually charged for his crimes? I haven't been able to find anything more recent than from a day after his "apology" video. Last I heard was that the ministry was still investigating and that charges were still possible. This was stated on September 11/12th, so it's been a while. I truly hope they hold him accountable for his actions.

The guy may have been inebriated a tad .....some tend to become loud and belligerent after downing a few . After the sober up , he may have realized the backlash going on and went into damage control .....to no avail . In today's "real" word , most of us carry a weapon , called a cell-iphone or digi-cam in our pocket and YOU could be a contestant on "Candid Camera" ....anytime .....anywhere ........:ninja:

I heard on another site that the Ministy is still going to pursue the matters with "Eddy the Musky hater" and they are still putting all the evidence together. Sounds like Justice will be served, just depends on what the punishment will be and exactly what laws did he actually break!!!! Multiple maybe??????

And only one guy got caught. His (this) attitude has been going on for years with the old school boys from other lakes etc. with Muskie.

Same as killing a carp or Sheaphead which are better fighters and don't die as easy.

Does it make it right? I guess it depends on who thinks who's right.

Maybe we should only have catch & release with all species.

Should we keep a limit of Perch? Should you keep a 15 LB. Walleye from Quinte?

The big point was, he wasted a good eating fish, or what ever.

Maybe he has learned from his mistake, Lets not try and send him to the Gallows.

I'm Not trying to let him off, but don't we ALL learn from our mistakes?

Pretty big mistake by this guy....and in order to learn from mistakes we must be punished

Also, keeping a limit of fish for a meal is completely different from bludgeoning a fish to death and dumping the carcass just for spite, don't we agree?

100%

For starters a muskie must be 45 inches or larger to be kept.

Why? To keep the fishery alive!

He states out right that he hates muskie because they eat his walleye.

You can easily see by his demeanor in the video, that he has no remorse.

Only when he's caught does he put on the "I'm so sorry. I don't know what happened. I just lost it".

Big sob story for the media.

Bull.

The only thing he's sorry for is being caught.

Punish him and punish him big. At least then maybe he'll stop and think before he beats another one to death.

Edited for typos.

Killing the musky for no reason is wrong and what this angler did was very ignorant.

And because this made the www, I'm guessing he'll think twice about trying that again.

But to me this case is being over blown.

It's just a fish.

Hundreds of anglers slit salmon and brown trout for their eggs and allow the fish to be

wasted, and many have witnessed this.

Yet that is not bad enough to have their pic taken and splattered across the web.

It's amazing the thousands of atrocities going on world wide, yet most turn a blind eye to those.

But get caught killing a fish, and wow !

The amount of people on various forums calling for blood and severe punishment.....

they need to get their priorities straight, it's just a fish.

Just my opinion.

It's just a fish.

I have to agree Dan .....My post #36 -Oct .4 on the subject pretty well said the same thing . The way the trout are treated locally is offensive to me ....including the derbies .....lots to say on this but I'll refrain . If using roe ends up being banned as a result of complaints to the MNR , it won't hurt my feelings . The guy who killed the ski has already paid the price . Web sites like Facebook, Twitter & YouTube are now the quickest way to get the word out to millions of people .

It's one thing to post a news article on a public forum.

Quite another to start posting random photos of people breaking the law.

The owner of this or any other site would soon be facing a lawsuit.

Lord only knows how many this clown has treated in the same manner before being exposed.

Bet my bottom dollar it's not " just ....A.... fish."

Nothing gets me going more than someone saying "it's just a fish".

Why not finish it? It's just a fish. Who cares?

Might not be there in black and white but it's certainly implied!

I'm sure that's the attitude of all the snaggers/poachers/slashers and eggers out there too!

It's doesn't matter. It's just a fish.

Just a fish indeed!

Who knows for sure how many other muskies he has killed ......In this case we are talking about the one he killed & was caught on film . When he posted his apology on Facebook , he just buried himself deeper and now , he will be recognized by many anglers who may not be too nice to him . The days are here when cameras are everywhere & as concerned anglers we can help stop poaching & trashing our environment . In this case I hope the MNR has dealt with this guy appropriately . Now ....I'm off to Port to get me a rainbow dinner ....... :Gonefishing:

Talked with Kevin Sprague (Wheatley District C.O.) Charges are pending, he has been busy putting a case together, I believe he wants a solid conviction! He told me he'd call again when charges are laid.

It isn't really an issue of opinion. You are not allowed to waste fish according to the regs.It is illegal to "abandon fish or permit the flesh to spoil,if the fish is suitable for human consumption." The guy broke the law and should be punished. Personally I'd like to see his licence taken away permanently as muskies are relatively few in number compared to other fish. This would also serve as a firm example to those foolish enough to waste a prime sport fish.

I agee with you fully. Whats your thoughts on taking a fish for roe ...that has zero consumption and zero reproduction? I have taken fish many times just for the roe. I used to clean and fillet the fish for my hungarian neighbor who said he does not mind contaminents. Now these same fish from this body of water are zero consumption, and zero reproduction. I still can make use of the roe...and understand i must take the whole fish, but now id rather garbage it than feed it to anyone.

I don't have any problems with taking a fish for roe. The whole muskie thing bugs me more on principal, the sheer waste of it. As has been pointed out,it was undersize anyway it should have been released immediately(without the brutal beating of course). Its like guys who go hunting and kill a deer and then just leave it to spoil-it is a disgrace to kill an animal and waste it. I believe if you are a real outdoorsman, you have a responsibility to respect and value the animals you are fishing/hunting for.

Ok keep in mind I am biased because I catch and release 100%

However as I see it Dave you used that roe with a purpose. In other words you didn't just kill a fish and waste it. You took the roe and used it.

My problem is he killed this fish and let it go to waste. If this fish was in the legal keeping size range and he cut it up and used it for bait I would feel better. Killing it just because you don't like that species is unacceptable to me.

Just my thoughts.....

I have heard from a reliable source that the individual has a long history of breaking fish and game laws...I do believe the MNR is aware of this fact.

When I watched his apology video, right away my thoughts were "dang, this guys scared that he got caught, and now he's trying to do everything he can to get out of trouble", Including saying it's the only muskie he's ever killed (BS), and that the fish was deep hooked so it was gunna die anyways (BS x2!!!!!!). Made me so angry...... Lets hope nobody believes this BS
