We went for a couple of hours before dark, and was having another slam fest.

We are pretty quick with the fillet knife.

It's definitely fall and the panfish are frantically fattening up. Had 3 hours of non-stop action. No problem saving 2 dozen for a fry.

Just about anywhere in the USA has much tougher enforcement when it comes to Game and Fish or littering. Many states have minimum fines starting at $500

There is a small army of "people" ( I'm being polite) fishing along the roads every weekend. No wonder the fishing is tougher. I have given up picking up after them.

Way too much like summer right now. All my favourite haunts are big blanks. Warm water and weed choked. Hopefully the season extends.

I've just heard that a longstanding member of the Niagara fishing community passed away. Gary Whiting finally lost the fight after 2 major strokes earlier this year. Many know him as the owner of Sink er Swim Tackle. A great guy. Always enjoyed fishing with him from the banks.

We had nothing last year. Now they are all over the neighbourhood. We are getting good at killing the buggers. Maybe I'll tackle the surplus population of squirrels next.

They are really hungry. They trip all the traps every night. 2 more down this morning

There has been a new surge in the population in the old Welland/Lake area. Probably due to them tearing up the water system on Lake, and also the demolition of the Garden City arena. We also have chicken coops in our neighbourhood. Tween the one neighbour and I we have killed over a dozen in the past week. and had way more traps tripped and emptied. I hope the rat candy is having an effect. This is way worse than the West Hill

Hit the Grand as the rain was dying off. Decided to let George land all the fish. Boy did she get a big surprise.

Want to hear another kick in the teeth for decent folks here??? St Catharines is rated as #8 on overall crime ratio, or #10 on the violent crime rate list for Ontario. #1 flips between Thunder Bay and Timmins.

Street cops are not the problem. But they have no more say than you or I.

There will be no suspects, and no witnesses. We have seen a number of gang related shootings here, but the police will never admit to the problem.

Problem with a lot of our good independents is they are booked solid weeks in advance, like Cosgroves or Kenirys

been a few years since I was last out in a boat there. There is a lot more mud flat than most realize. Many have been stuck and stranded to await rescue in the harbour over the years. This year will not be a bad year as a high water spring. In other years those areas marked as 2' were more likely 6". The back channel upstream of the rail bridge averages 5' to 6'.
