  1. Got out onto the Grand today. Perfect day weather wise. Nice little chop. OPP out keeping everyone safe and lawful. Catfish being cooperative. We were dragging harnesses, so I was a little surprised by what was hitting the spinners today.
  2. A lot of the long timers simply disappeared into the wilderness or the great beyond..
  3. Just got my first one at CD Park yesterday. When farming it was commonplace for me to find at least one a week until we got a good hot dry spell. As far as ticks in the residential areas go.... St Kitts is surrounded by woodland and greenbelt, thriving with nature. Ticks simply latch on to any mammal and travel. Coyotes and deer come up from the 12 and roam the neighbourhood and so do the rodents.
  4. Da Smerch is offline and incommunicata for the next couple of days. Seems he finally hit the little red button and things went "PooF"
  5. No fishing here. Busy filling orders for Detroit R jigs. Almost done. Will get out for the weekend.
  6. Glad to see you are getting out and getting some fish.

Essentially yes. All the sunfishes we have tried, bluegill, pumpkinseed, long ear and green have tasted similar. Bigger differences occur with the differences in water bodies.
  8. Yer lookin a little grey there Jack. Nice to see you are still on the right side of the grass.

Sadly we don't get the local rag in our neighbourhood. Post the pic Bill.

    Fresh bluegill and crappie
  11. Fish feed looking up. Depending on the weather and water they can be suspended anywheres from 1 ft to just off bottom. Tuesday they were shallow. I've only been out twice, and yes they have been finicky. Also a lot of small stuff this spring. Popping a slip float is the best tactic right now.
  12. I learnt, a few years back, that internet communities are a fickle thing. People come and go, move on, etc. Also when someone we know is ill, or passes on, they just disappear from view, unless their family shared contacts, hobbies, or interests. We just may not get to know, because we were only "casual" contacts. It's sad to learn, long after the fact, that someone has died with nary a word. A lot of people no longer post obits online or in the papers. Some have families who just did not care about their deceased relative, or the life they lived. They came to take care of the legalities and collect their inheritance. Nothing more. Sounds like a rather cold world out there.
  13. Was good to see so many friendly faces. I regret not having the time to stop and talk with many who came out. I was just swamped.
  14. It's gonna be a great show. I'll be there, and so will George.
  15. Life just keeps getting in the way this ice season.
  16. Next couple of days I'm tied up. Judy has surgery tomorrow on her knee, again.
  17. The army of grandkids is out on the prairies. George does help her Grampa.
  18. Regrettably, the arthritis has been getting worse the past 2 years. Lots of wear and tear in the hips, pelvis, let alone all the lower back damage. I knew it was coming, no surprises. Just have a brain that still thinks I'm 20.
  19. Glad I didn't get any chance to be on the ice. Arthritis has been really bad this winter. I imagine springs going to be worse. Got out for a couple of hours to do some farm chores and had 2 solid falls in one afternoon. Not a good sign.
  20. They also make good horse feed and fishing poles.
