  1. Ya ive been seeing a few myself ...shot a doe already with my compound bow and im hoping my daughter can get her doe this week so i can concentrate on hunting a buck soon.....last night i failed to knock a deer down with my shot gun ....i shot at a 4 pointer at about 85 yrds and went right under it ..followed up with a buckshot quickly as it was running away and another slug but he was already at 150 yrds...i got down to check for blood and by the time i reached where he was standing 2 shots rang off the neighbouring property right where he ran...yup another guy shot him..i found no blood..better luck next time i guess🙄20211018_185452.jpg

I’m assuming you are all talking of fishing the channel at Pt. Dalhousie, but I have never fished there.

Since I sold my boat last year I’ve got to start looking for more shore fishing options.

Can you park and fish on the east side near the boat ramps - I don’t have a long net for pier fishing.

And do you all eat them, or are you just doing catch and release?

I wasnt fishing in the channel at port ...i was casting from both piers out into the lake...too much current in the channel..im thinkin the salmon are just about finshed heading into port from the lake so closer up by the dam will be the place to try now.....bottom bouncing with roe bags or casting lures...browns will be in soon enough too

  3. Its tough when we have limited marine services in our area ...heard both good and really bad things about hartzel marine mostly over charging for parts and extra hours installing but if your stuck it is what it is unfortunately...

Thanks a lot fishingking. Is there a place to launch a yak around that area?

Theres a public launch just down from the dam..not sure if they charge for launching kayak there ....if u kmow where is u start trolling there and head east up to the river to marina and powells welding shop..try to keep in 12 to 14 ft of water ...about 100 ft back doin 1.5mph. With something that dives 5 to 10 ft u should catch....hooked into some big cats as well

Anyone been out on the lower? Thinking about taking my yak out and trolling up river from the mouth area. I’ll try cranks and worm harnesses. I know the 🐑 heads will be out to play but hopefully I can run into some catts and walleye.

If heading down past fish masters theres vic powells on the right and small marina and restaurant ...if u concentrate in that area u should do well using cotton cordell big o's (chartruse)or other shallow diving cranks...can also try the 3or 4 inch paddle tail swim baits on 1/4 oz jigs tipped with a chunk of worm has also been working..good luck

Ya, they don't like it any more than we do...totally unnecessary .  We can golf this weekend and splash parks are open for the kids .....don't know about beaches ....but there will be parties for this long weekend !

....and I'm out of beer ....   :dunno:

I went to Peter's web site and saw the little red  X  for in store shopping ....That could be fun looking for the right hooks , sinkers , fishing rod to bring curbside  ! As I said , I'll wait until I can go inside before I part with my big stash of $$$  .... :)

Mr .Ford .....open up the dam stores !!   :clapping:

Ya i find if possible to bring a specific hook or sinker or lure ..anything that your tryin  to match up is easier than them bringing 5 different options to the door and none of them being what u want
