  1. I totally agree with Bubba14 - judges should be held accountable! Make the judge serve jail time if a they release a firearms related criminal and the criminal re-commits a firearms crime! Bet that would end ALL bail for the criminals!
  2. You are lucky!! my buddy in Ft. Erie has 5 ft drifts in front of his garage, and said its like the blizzard of 77 there. I was in Ft. Erie in 77 and vividly remember that storm, so it must be bad there today!
  3. Just blew out over a foot of snow here in Welland this am
  4. Yea Tyler, those augers need 2 people to operate without jamming and torquing you. Not like drilling thru ice, thats for sure!
  5. Only gas auger I ever rented was many years ago, and it looked like an oversized gas ice auger. You had to have 2 guys holding it, one on either side, or the top would torque you around like you were riding a carousel!
  6. In Welland SW of Thorold and Rice Rd. Daughter in Beamsville had power out from 10 to 12.
  7. Very nice work Tyler!! One man hand augers sold today are crappy! A few months ago I helped my son install a 20 ft section of fence to enclose a parking area beside his house. Trying to drill post holes in rocky soil with the hand auger he bought was killing us. I went home and dug out my grandfathers old post hole auger from the back of my shed, and it did the holes way easier than the new auger! Sometimes the oldies are WAY better!
  8. Our hydro already went out once at 9:00…back on at 9:40. wonder how long before its out again.
  9. Got an old square plexiglas patio table I jeep out behind my shed that is my cleaning table - hoses off really easy afterward.
  10. A little Sea Foam and premium non-ethanol gas, and it will start just fine!
  11. Got my Shappell hut and my collapsible snow runner base for it out of the back of my shed and put them in the garage now, so I don’t have to dig my way thru the snow to the shed when we do get some ice. getting the gas auger out and filling it can wait thou till we do get ice.
  12. Be real nice if we get enough ice in Niagara for some ice fishing by mid-January. 😏
  13. In a way, I guess we’re lucky we are having a fairly mild, fairly snowless start to winter so far. My brother-in-law lives in central B.C., and he is -38C this morning.
  14. Coyotehunter, that was an excellent writeup!! You really should take the top portion of that on the gun issue, copy it, and email it to yourMP! I wrote a scathing one-page letter on this issue and mailed it to my MP - just waiting now to see if he has the fortitude to send a response, or just sends a form letter garbage reply (if he even has the guts to reply at all, being a liberal).
  15. I really hope they are more than just surprised! according to their gun list, I have two .22 rimfire rifles on their list, and putting ANY little .22 on that list is absurd. their list even includes single shots and old antiques!
  16. The hunters had Bill C-21 nightmares in their beds, while dreaming of reindeers stomping Trudeau in their heads. (As you can gather from the above, I’m not happy with Trudeau right now - 2 of my .22 rimfile rifles are on that damn Bill C21 list!!)
  17. No - they can get that big. when I lived near Midland, our club had biologist from Midhurst MNR give talks at some meetings, and he said that they had weighed in coyotes anywhere from 22 Lbs to 90 Lbs. In Simcoe County.
  18. We spent 3 hours in urgent care this morning - now both of us on antibiotics 😞
  19. I love it! showed that to my wife and told her I need some - this was my gun hunt week, and I lost out on it because we’ve both been laid up with bad head/chest colds since last week.
  20. Nice going! I was hoping to fill my doe tag this week on the shotgun hunt, but I’ve had a bad head/chest cold, and it looks like my gun hunt is not gonna happen.
  21. Nice going! i am waiting till the temps drop lower as I have a 55 minute ride home from the family farm. hoping to get out next week if it cools off.
  22. Thats a neat idea! I always just take the spool off the reel, throw it in a boot, and stand over it pulling it off hand over hand. Gonna use the drill and wire from now on.
  23. One of my daughters lives in Quispamsis, New Brunswick, and there is chain pickerel in their lake. I always catch (and release) a few off their dock each time we visit - they do look very much like a pike.
  24. I always thought pickerel was the Canadian name for them and walleye just the yankee version.
  25. Bill, where in the world did he catch a 13.5 Lb walleye at Waterford - in the ponds there?
