I'm getting more wobbly to, Paul...So far I haven't managed to tip the Hobie yet..I have a lean bar on mine which is awesome for casting out of....

I would love a more compact boat but just can't spend the money now...I'm so used to peddling now I wouldn't know what to do with a paddle😆

Of course not where I expected while fishing for crappie.

Also caught a 5 lb carp on my jig, legit in the top lip. Unbuttoned right on shore.

Lots of carp surfacing around me.

    No crappie around.

    Hmmmm.

    🤔

The Lance Egan Poacher has been working really well for me lately....Tied on size #8 Jig Hook with a 4 mm. tungsten bead...I fish it on my 4wt.  with about 6ft of straight 4X tippet.....Pop it into tight pockets or float it on an Indicator in slow pools....

    Killer looking flys

From this morning, I tried my previous 3 spots. Water a touch lower and nicely stained.

Used the same type flies as last time. Nothing touched the top floater fly, all on the dropper.

Got a couple small smallies. Larger than last time. More white perch, a chub and an 8" steelhead.

I wish I took a picture of it. Was very silvery and bright white. I thought it was a large shiner at first. Most likely a stocker or natural? I didn't check for the missing fin at the time.

Nice to see ya putting fish on the bank.
have you tried the dry fly In the evening? I find that’s when most bugs are on the water and the fish are feeding.

Spent Saturday morning until Sunday at noon on the bank. It's been really tough the last few years to afford time to get out fishing. This was only the third time in 2024 I have been able to get out. Although the weather made it impossible to fish through the night on Saturday, both mornings were very productive. This pristine pre-spawn fish was the biggest of the session. 28.8 lbs. Fantastic battle. No baiting was necessary for these fish. Lots of fish came to a single pop up or with some pack - bait around the lead. Next adventure I hope to be able to take my kids out.

Amazing! I can't wait to get the yak out for pike soon.

I’d like to get out for some pike also.
wouldn’t mind doing a long point bay trip for perch and pike.

  7. Fished outta grimsby today. Wanted to get out to 40+fow but the winds had other plans. Made it to 25 and that was about the max wave height I’d wanna fish in. Cruised around a bit and went in to 12fow. Ended up with 2 lakers today one for each my buddy and I. Water temps were 50f. Both fish caught in flicker minnows.

    Where do you find that?

I'd prefer to keep the profile of the fly as intended when match the hatch becomes important enough.

    Loonoutdoors

    basspro (Barrie)

    amazon

    Maybe some fly shops.

I've got 3 spots I'm going to try and they won't be the more accessible ones, because I'm sure they'll be busy.

Have to see how the waters look with level and clarity. Mostly just want to try my fly gear, maybe toss a Rooster Tail.

See what happens tomorrow and Sunday morning.

    Did you get out?
