  1. Went up to the land yesterday to build a shelterlogic car port.
The night before topped up all fluids, added air to “NEW tires”, washed it etc. making sure it was good for the 5hr drive. Around Mississauga kinda start noticing the back end swaying back and forth a bit.  I’m thinking it just the weight in the back of the truck or the snow and ice on the road.  My truck is always clunking and clanking so I didn’t think too much about it. Next thing I know we’re in Peterborough and the rear tire blows at 6am. Lucked out Canadian tire was 8min away. Towed there waited an hr for it to open and 3 hours to get seen.
Had tire instock and was covered under warranty since I bout them at CT.
got north and walked the land, had a beer and enjoyed the quietness.
Didn’t get the car port built, dropped it off and brought garbage home.
long day with 12hrs of driving. image000007.jpegimage000002.jpegimage000001.jpegimage000000.jpeg

I would be honoured to have you and Tyler join me sometime on the bank. The carp fishing in Canada is so much more than The St. Lawrence River. We are truly spoiled in Niagara with so much opportunity and an abundance of wild fish that have never seen a hook!

There are some amazing mirrors that have been captured in Southern Ontario. I hope to see some beauties being posted in the coming years here on NFN.

Look at these 2 from a few years back. Caught 20 minutes apart.

Used them many times in the lower Niagara. Caught mostly Lakers with them. I also made my own from cork and plastic I cut from a bleach bottle.

Do you pin it on the line and add a hook Like a bead?

I went to the Ft. Erie show.

Ordered my kayak trailer, and bought some supplies from Bruce’s wife and from Top Notch Tackle.

They showed me a neat hook that keeps ur drop shot bait perfectly level, so ordered some of them.

Other than those things, I came away feeling disappointed in the rest of the show…seemed like a lot of used things.

But getting my yak trailer, which was the key thing I went there for.

Any pics of it? And what price range? My buddy is looking for one assp. Maybe pm me

  5. I’ll be at the clean up this Saturday 8am with two buddies that run a “leave no trace” garbage clean up program from the Canadian carp society. If anyone is interested in a lil clean up and chatting it would be nice to see some NFN members there.

more to come about the leave no trace program.

It's pike for dinner tonight .  Three weeks left to catch'em  ,then time to target the whiskered gals .

I used this heavy flat bellied swimbait for this pike ...good thing I used a steel leader as it swallowed it down the hatch .

I’ve never used steel leaders. If I targeted them I’d probably go with 20lb fluro

It's very busy at Port (Rennie) now as the finish line building is being demolished and a new one will be built . They are also going to re-sod a large area of grass near there . And there was some talk of turning Lock St. into a pedestrian mall ???  That was shot down by city council , for now. Imaging the traffic nightmare if that happens . Story on this in the Standard .  It's better to come from JC Park to fish the Rennie area , lots of parking there.

The worms are out tonight , took me 10 min.to grab 2 doz.

We gotta do a rennie trip this year smerch
