I have a couple of Spy Point Flex cameras and they work very well.  Get 50 pics a month free with each camera but you need to set them up on two different accounts to get this service.  If you set them up on the same account it is 50 pics between both of the cameras

Good to know. I’m looking at getting a few cams.

Probably get the spey out soon for steelhead I hope. Then Lake O shoreline should start for Browns end of March. Will be in Cuba mid April  for vacation with Bones and Barracuda...Then out to Cape Cod beginning of June for Stripers..Then off to Buckhorn for family vacation and Bass opener...Back to Lake Erie kayak and the Grand wading for the rest of the summer....And I'm sure some fishing in between 😆

Sounds like a great year Dave. Are you shore fishing browns?

Its cold, but sunny, and seems like too nice a day just to sit around and do nothing, especially when everything is closed.

So I’ve decided I’m going to Ft. Erie this afternoon and try fishing the river again.

    Good luck today.

I have fished for carp while sitting on that bench but it was not easy casting along that bank with a 12 ft. rod with the low tree branches ....all clear now !

How much chum and how often Ty ?   Will the carp leave as soon as dinner is done or will they hang around for dessert ?

Just asking for a friend ......    :Gonefishing:

they hang out in the shallow end of the lake cuz it warms quick. I’ll just put some packbait balls/corn out once in a while.

took the car for a run to C.Tire then checked out spots for remaining ice ,water viz.

Think I'll rig up a light rod for pannies soon but some colder temps on the way for a while so may hit up Port D for some drifting.

Ty....Rennie looking good for pike  now and lots of space for carping .

I noticed my local carp pond has opened up. Going to start putting some bait in.

Spent the morning checking out ice conditions ect . First stop was Martindale , mostly open water and some downed trees by the beavers  and on my way out I caught a glimpse of an eagle (long shot)  Then off to Henley Is. where it's wide open now, road needs fixing .

Off to Port Dal.where there I saw 6 guys fishing the west side where the current was strong . I checked out Rennie P. on the way out and was shocked to see they were busy clearing out many trees and shrubs on the east bank I assume is for the spectators when the regatta races start this summer . It also opens up more space for anglers .

Nice day to get out to decide where I'll wet my lines in open water ....some pics....

anchor system for the or else you're drifting

I bought an anchor pole mount from Navarre kayaking and going to get the yak attack pole. Might not hold up in strong current but should work well for sitting in a back Eddie or light current.

also I want to try drifting for catts. I can peddle backwards to slow down my drift or maybe get a drift sock.

    I’ll stay in touch …

my brother has been getting into the carp fishing. I may join him for some of that in the spring.

    Now that’s a bro I wish I had :)
we should meet up for kayaking spring catts. Have you ever done it?

id love to get out to rice lake. If you not targeting carp mainly atleast leave some rods out at night (make sure to have bite alarms.)

  9. What’s everyone’s plans for this season? Any trips planned? Doing anything out of the ordinary? Targeting new species?

-this year I plan on fishing the salmon durbys quite a bit. (Boat and kayak)

-get out more for Erie walleye kayaking.

-spring catts on the grand kayaking.
    - fish some new lakes in the area I’ll be moving to.
    -of course Carp fish

Yes the club also could use extra help filling shifts at the ramp. Weighing fish for the derbies, directing traffic and light clean up.

Great opportunity for recently retired folks, enjoyable work, fresh air & social/friendship within the fishing community.

If anyone is interested you can email scgameandfish@gmail.com

When is the spring clean up?

I spend over an hour filling out the on-line request for my plate renewal yesterday . After filling out all the info required 3 times the answer was the same . "Try again later"

After getting all the info from my 2 vehicles they are too busy ?  Or get on the phone and listen to music for an hour and give all the info on 2 vehicles ?

I tried again today and the same error code comes up . ...enough time wasted . Instant technology is soo great .

I have 2 choices ,  drive to Fonthill (20 min) or ignore it altogether .  I would be glad to see the old way back and pay directly at Service Ontario in Fonthill and send those bucks to help the hospitals . I'll wait until next week because it so nice to waste this 60*F. day as I can wash my vehicles now !

....the code I'm getting all morning .....

I’m surprised you don’t have a service Ontario closer to you in that busy area.
sometime it’s just easier to go in. Pack your carp rods and make a day of it :)

    Paradise !

Good to get away from the big smoke .

Nice to have venison , moose burgers and all the fish you can eat !

    And a wood stove ??

There’s a wood stove in the bunkie. The gf’s parents will be living in that and the small motor home they have.
our lot has nothing but a roughed in driveway and a small clearing to build.

I will need some hunting buddies :)

the people that owned the 13acres used it as a hunt camp. Theres a bunkie  on the property with a tree already set up to hang deer.
