I will not ever give homeless people money. I used to work at a shelter and all they do is panhandle until they get enough money for their next hit, or just go and buy booze with it. I have donated clothing, food etc but I'm not going to enable their addictions by giving them cash

Darryl, ive looked at those shaky rabbit things but always wondered if they work. Whats your experience with them? Do they actually focus their attention?
It definitely brings them in, coupled with the rabbit in distress sounds. Usually they figure it out before they actually get to the decoy, but by then they usually have a round through them. Sometimes they will just sit and stare at it wondering what's going on which just gives you a few extra seconds to get a shot off

As far as i know there is nothing illegal about hunting coyotes with deer hunting equipment as long as you have a small game tag.
Season for coyotes is open all year as far as i know. Why do you believe its illegal Dan? Am i missing something?
I agree. I was out deer hunting this morning and shot 2 coyotes with my crossbow. It's common practice if you are deer hunting to shoot coyotes. As far as gear, what you can use depends on the area you're hunting. I like electric callers for yotes and also own an electric rabbit that shakes around to get their attention.

I used to use a deer bleat call.
It worked somewhat, but later on i found it was best to just find a good spot down wind, keep quiet and still.
I agree. I've had no luck with calling. I assume I'm doing it wrong and will deter the deer from coming in. I just sit and wait patiently.

NOTL population is increasing yearly, perhaps that has something to do with the lower numbers of deer spotted.
I'm not quite sure. We have multiple cameras spread out over the property and we have significantly less on cameras, and have seen far less while out hunting.

I hunt in Niagara on the Lake and everybody in that area is also complaining about the lack of deer. we have got a couple nice bucks so far but the amount of deer that we are seeing on the cameras are significantly less than the last 5 years.

I haven't heard of anyone in years that still use one. What type of information would you get over a CB radio?

The Visa and Mastercard gift cards are the biggest scam going that's why we stopped buying them years ago..if you read the fine print they say that every month you don't use them they decrease in value until they eventually hit $0. We just give cash now.

I have a Tactacam Reveal and it's been amazing. Super easy to set up. Only maybe 10$ bucks a month, and as soon as I fill my tags I suspend the account till next year. My third season with this camera . Unfortunately if someone wants your camera bad enough you will not stop them

Spent the morning hunting and didn't see a thing. Popped in to my moms for breakfast and all of a sudden her dog started going crazy. Figured it was a squirrel outside the window. Well I was wrong. Beautiful buck just casually walking around backyard for 10 to 15 minutes! Gorgeous deer. This was fonthill about 11am.

I believe it was 120 or 130$ for the year. After 7 or 8 outings it's all paid for. We bought it in March or April right from the Town of Fort Erie office.

I found it much cheaper to get the yearly pass for Crystal beach. We made our money back by June or July. We only launch there so it makes sense for us .
-
My year was quite opposite. I always launch from crystal beach and fish in between the launch and river. June and July were our busiest months with a lot of limits. August was decent but didn't get out much because almost entire month was too windy. September we struggled. Figured many fish began heading west. By end of September I was perch fishing .

Is it just me or are the winds hindering everyone this year. I simple just can’t get out! Or I’m I getting old and too cautious?
Just had this conversation Deetch. I'm in the middle of two weeks of vacation and it doesn't look like I'll get out much if any. If it's not the wind, it's the rain

Smerch, I think it's time we met. If you would like to try for walleye one day on Erie I would be pleased to enjoy your company. You have to bring the worms.
Very nice offer Verado! This is what fishing is all about .

How was the garbage?
last time I was there that side was clean but the other side was a disaster. I guess the guy that was volunteering his time emptying the garage cans isn’t doing it anymore. I didn’t see any garbage cans around so now people just make a dump site and expect someone else to clean it up. Yup the city will clean it up and also put up no trespassing signs. I can see that spot disappearing very soon.
wish I lived closer I’d take on the cleaning up after others.Tyler you are 100% right. I bet more than half of the spots I used to fish as a kid are now NO TRESPASSING, and the region is just looking for reasons to ban other good shore spots. I can see down the road real difficulty finding a good spot unless you have a boat or a yak

Gas Down

I started back up with my weekly states runs. Filled up pickup truck and 3 large jerry cans on weekend for 1.05 canadian per litre and picked up 30 cans of coors light at Tops for 18$. Over and back in an hour. Saved well over $125
