  1. Looks great. Can't wait to help you try her out.
  2. Thanks for reminding me. Not that my body doesn't keep reminding me
  3. I saw the title and thought.... The Mrs has been calling you names
  4. Purple or black for the muddy waters.
  5. The notion of social responsibility for the world around us ha long been a thing of the past. Yes lots of people, rant, beat on their chests, demand action, etc... Very few actually do anything about it. It's somebody's job to look after the problem. Yet in truth it is everybody's job and responsibility.
  6. Looks like we won't have to sleep under the overpass.
  7. There are some monsters around. I've caught a few 40"+ specimens here in Niagara. Peanut helped to chase one of them in at CDP. Congrats on the pig. As for the ticks... A mild winter means an abundance of the nasty critters.
  8. At the moment, there are 50 to 100 families looking for a new home to rent. I am seeing the same faces at times.
  9. Looks like we are taking our show on the road after 5 years. Don't know where. Not much available out there unless you have really deep pockets.
  10. Most plants don't like overwatering, especially in early season. We allow our pots to dry out before watering. We also torture our plants to push growth. Forces the plant to extend out their roots in search of water/nutrients.
  11. For those inquiring about plants, first of the tomato and hot pepper plants ready this weekend.
  12. George's row of peas survived the snow just fine.
  13. I was a Muskoka boy, even after my family located itself in Toronto when I was a kid. I've watched the continuous growth and sprawl along that corridor for 50 years. Going up to stay with my uncle on weekends before there was a 400 extension. Used to be there was nothing north of Steeles. Maple was a raceway, motel and airstrip. Now it is non-stop subdivision up to Hwy 9. In 71 there were 27000 in Barrie, currently sitting now at 153000. Hwy 11 is just one giant stretched subdivision artery with no gap between towns. if it wasn't for the road signs, you would think you were still in Toronto.
  14. This has been going on for over 20 years now. Gridlock on the 400 is worse than the QEW,
  15. I hope I'm not overstepping here. To answer everyone, there are 2 ways. You can message me and I can bring the plants you want to my house for p/up. We will also be set up for a few Fridays and Saturdays on Hwy #8 tween Vineland and Beamsville at Hipple's produce stand. First of our plants won't be ready til the first of May. ( Unless that snow hits that they are talking about) Not all plants are available at the same time as some, like cukes and beans, need a warmer soil temperature
  16. I'll have basil some time after may 15th.
  17. We transplanted 60 flats of 4" pots this morning. 900 more tomato plants.
  18. We will have some 10,000 vegetable plants coming due for retail next month. That's on top of our field planting
  19. First crops going in. George gets to plant her peas. We are going to be doing a lot of picking.
  20. Don't forget to factor in price of gas to go get cheap propane. A friend keeps tryng to sell the Costco gas station to me.. Yes the price, with discounts, is cheaper than anywhere. Now factor in a 76km round trip. I saved nothing. Freegas would save me 3 bucks a tank after driving
  21. What wild weather! 2 days now with the hail

  22. Dill pickle day in the Ugli's kitchen
