Kayak hunting?? That might be iffy, as you may not be able to transport the game back in it.
I definitely have to look into it more. I’d make sure there would be a way to get the animal out. I’ll have a quad also

"Chinese fire drill"
I had one of those the other day fishing a pool filled with fallen trees. Said if I hook a fish here I’m jumping in. Sure enough hooked up with a bow and in I went up and under trees just to lose it at my feet.

So happens Cuba was having some of its worse cold fronts in 20 years according to some..This made some of the fish disappear in certain areas.Fishing was tough, cold water, and lots of wind...Add Christmas and my buddies birthday to the mix I didn't get out a whole lot...Last day with the guide made up for everything, landed 6 and dropped another 3.Mostly respectable sized Bones in the Lagoons and hit one small Cuda.As always I learned a lot about stalking fish on the flats...
Awesome pics

I was in Caledonia about 3 weeks or so ago and not one person fishing there. Passing through York on the way back
I did see a number of people trying their luck there. I have actually fished York more than the dam area with so so luck.
I’ll have to check the waters out around there.
mostly shallow runs no? -

I was on a mission to catch a steelhead on a fly rod one year about 10 years or so ago and targeted Caledonia dam. I was there 5 or 6 times before I finally caught one, not a very efficient way to catch them but was a blast having one on. Once I caught one on the fly I crossed that off the list. I have caught lots of Rainbow Parr in some tributaries of the Grand while fishing for Brown's so there must be some natural reproduction. There is supposed to be a good run at Paris but have never fished there.
If you wanna try getting one on the fly again try the York area I believe fly guys fish there.
