  1. Good to know, Grimsby buoy is right outside my window, very convenient
  2. I target them a lot, love fishing for them, got a few trays worth of lures dedicated to chasing em down, and don’t get me started on their topwater strikes….anyone else see them shoot out of the water like a cruise missle when striking your topwater? Best thing ever
  3. I’m 38 so I’m no young one anymore, but I’ve done a lot of bushwhacking on trout opener, practically lived on the Bruce trail during my childhood spend a lot of time outdoors, and honestly I’ve never ever found a tick on me once. Anyone else seem to have avoided ticks like me or am I just very lucky? And yes I do check myself
  4. You lost me at “gov logic”, sorry can’t help
  5. I do, I also think there could be a Floridian python or croc as well…. Make sure you enjoy the fishing down there for all of us up here, good luck 🤞
  6. I was out at Jordan a couple days ago in the evening taking advantage of the high temps, made my first attempt at pike this year. Unfortunately no fish caught, only stayed for an hour since I was swatting those gnats/midges? like crazy, still not as bad as last year though
  7. Land twice the size of Toronto gets momentous conservation deal (msn.com) Hopefully this link works
  8. That’s truly an amazing and exceptional experience, fighting a sturgeon is definitely on my bucket list, congrats
  9. Real jealous, I’m stuck with shore casting, good luck out there Im not sure if you’ve ever seen Eric haataja’s YouTube channel but brown trout is his specialty, currently the igfa record holder for c&r I believe, there’s quite a few videos with a lot of good info tips you can utilize
  10. You got three rapala taildancers there it seems and at least one possibly two husky jerks, that’s $50 in the stores easy right there, I would try trolling those in the yak
  11. I couldn’t believe it either when I was in CT and stopped by the fishing section, only to see a mepps black fury #4 with the tail dressing selling for $24.95….. gonna start making my own rods and reels too as well as lures
  12. A lot of bass style crankbaits work for browns in shallower water, if you have any squarebill cranks give them a shot
  13. This electric vs petrol battle all seems like it boils down to your damned if you do and your damned if you don’t….. until our production methods are as emission free as the end product it’s easy to say the end doesn’t justify the means, but regardless I still feel it’s progress in the right direction, it just seems like it’s going slower then we’d all want. We’ve never been at a point like this in our species where the electrical and digital age are changing every aspect of how we live, but the change will most likely take several generations worth of time in order to really benefit everyone, much the same way petrol first replaced horse and buggy
  14. Most fish species won’t survive after being brought up quickly from over 30ft, too much internal damage from swollen swim bladders…60ft will kill most anything except lakers In the fall or winter I never fish past 30 feet unless I’m definitely keeping, the small fish that get thrown back will swim away but usually will die, I believe I heard this from Mr. Pyzer
  15. Are there any articles where fish populations are booming? How come there’s never any of those?
  16. I’ll get one too and we’ll race from port d to Toronto……loser buys some of bigugli’s floats for the winner…. I just need to do my repairs first
  17. Beautiful rainbow….seems like all my days off are the windy and freezing ones, hoping for a mild day on my day off
  18. Yeah another storm, fortunately the canoe is in the garage, seems like the storms we get are shorter but more powerful condensed versions of the ones I remember as a child
  19. Thanks for the advice, we’re probably going to try to fix it ourselves, although I’ve never attempted anything this major. Cuts and scrapes I can stitch, not used to bullet wounds. I’m wondering how much a body shop would charge as well. Hey smerch, have you heard of that fibreglass company before?
  20. Well I talked to my parents who live in Stoney creek and our canoe suffered major damage during the wind storm. I have a 14ft square back freighter style that weighs close to 100lbs. We had it sitting upside down on top of my 14ft aluminum boat, we figured it will be secure sitting inside of it. Apparently the wind gust was strong enough to lift the canoe out of the boat and slam it against my mothers car. The side mirror went completely through the side of the canoe, hole large enough to put my leg through. I honestly didn’t think the wind could do this considering it takes my cousin and I, both over 6ft and strong, to lift this thing, and we can’t throw it. We just finished some fibreglass work on it this past fall. My parents were on their way to church and my dad was in the car waiting for my mother when it happened, had this happened as she was getting in the vehicle I’d hate to think of what could have been, so lucky and unlucky at the same time. The pics show my boats plus the damage, aluminum and trailer didn’t move. I’m also curious if anyone has heard of “Saagh fibreglass products” from Toronto, can’t seem to find much of anything on the web, my dad tells me he purchased it from the sportsman show in the early 80’s
  21. Not really what I was thinking but it works
  22. The title of this thread could have gone in several different directions 🤪🤗
  23. Nice to see the fall bite is still strong. Although you feel bad for the Rudd, it is considered invasive so you might not hear any groans about getting rid of a few
