My brother works for the contractor building it. I can see if he can find out. But this is a rumor that I have heard before.

It will boom may to september. Really boom.

Weekends will be busy year round. Makes more sense than Vaughn.

It isnt the niagara resident dollars but the tourist dollars that are attractive.

Toronto residents come down for the day ... just one more stop

I can't afford to shop there but I can afford smaller less expensive shops. Support the ma & pa operations not the big ticket pricey stores. (Just my opinion)

I love that bass pro has so much "stuff" to offer. But you can't beat the service of the smaller shops. I got a bunch of new rods over the winter from Grimsby tackle they werent in stock not problem, they ordered them in and called as soon as they arrived. And prices where lower then basspro. Great guys at Grimsby always super nice and helpful. You won't get that at basspro

I was told of this when I visited the city, I don't like it, I find when I go to bass pro the kids there don't know anything about their own products. I will continue. To shop at mom and pop, the guys who know how to fish the area, can answer all your questions, and can set you up

The deal folded in Buffalo because there was not sufficient market base to make it lucrative. I doubt Basspro Inc is foolish enough to split the southern Ontario market and double costs just because Sail is in Burlington To be honest, Sail is oversaturating the GTA market with 3 outlets across 110 kms.

Heard it but I can't see the profit in a job depressed min wage area

3 world class fisheries like Lake Ontario, erie, niagara river...tourist central.... I'm surprised it was not here sooner.... I hate driving to Toronto but I am definitely interested in going to a store close by....of course I will still support the small shops which seem to know how to provide better customer service.

dont know how true it is but I heard bass pro was looking for government kickbacks in buffalo and all the other stores in that area were vocal as they were never given any kickbacks to open stores. Which led to bass pro choosing the site across from white oaks. Like I said though, don't know how true it is but time will tell...

I hope it happens. When I was going to the specialist every few weeks in North York, we stopped at Vaughn. Great way to kill an hour or 2. I will support the local tackle shops, but BPS has stuff you will never find in them.

NOTL has wanted a supermall at that location for 20 years, but they want St Catharines to provide the infrastructure and transit for it. Don't expect anything soon while the local politicians duke it out.

i will agree that bass pro has a lot of product, but thats because they can afford to have the capacity to carry just about anything and everything, i like going there to see everything, and i like seeing the live fish, il still shop there and pick up items but i wont ask employees questions and expect the people to know to much, they do however have a great location, right beside the highway and right before the off ramp, all the guys coming down from the toronto area will have to drive past it and will more then likely make it there new pit stop.

^ That is the investor for the outlet mall. Some info in the link but doesn't say for sure about bass pro. it states " two big box stores" but i also heard rumour of bass pro going in there! That would be awesome.

I'm looking forward to it. I'm getting tired of having to get most of my stuff at crappy tire. And having to drive into st kitts or farther just for a bit of tackle isn't justifiable for me. Hopefully they'll have a fly shop inside too. Hell, I'll probably apply for management position there too.

Vaughan makes perfect sense. Just about every one heading north to hunt, fish, camp, atv etc drives right past it. Even for people heading east, its only 10 minutes out of their way.

I just looked at the Basspro website, which has a map with store locations and future store locations. Nothing on there about Niagara. Not saying it won't happen, but its not "official" yet.

X2 on that one. Another knife in the back of the little guy. I'm sure most local shops will match and try to order in what you want.

I alos heard that it is comming! Honestly, I am vey excited, what a great store to wander around and look at all the great stuff in it.. I love Bass Pro.. I do fear for all the Ma & Pop local stores, and i will still support all of them,

But

I wonder how Bass Pro prices will compare to the local shops?

Hopefully we don't lose a bunch of local businesses and all their great helpfull advice.. because you wont find that at Bass Pro..
