Smerchly, you are absolutely right! Local fishing shops are where it's at! Unless the sale is really right somewhere else.
 
I was recently in the market for a new suit because my old bibs were ripped after years of abuse. I found the Striker Predator jacket and bibs on for $369.99 each plus tax at Fishing World in Hamilton.
 
Bass Pro in NOTL had the same Jacket and bibs for $549.99 each plus tax...
 
When I was deciding, my mind was blown and it was a no-brainer to support the little man... and I should mention that Fishing World also gave me a free Striker hoodie valued at $124 in addition to the epic price they were offering!   

Heard it through the grape vine ......  Santa went to a school to visit "George" and many  kiddies in other classrooms , putting big smiles on their faces .
He has been known to play Santa many times before ......
Kudos to this great Santa who has brought many smiles to our kids over the years.

Finally....a little late in the season....and as much as working nights cuts into my out door time what soever...today( yesterday) I had a chance that I could actually participate in the best of both worlds....I got to spend a beautiful December morning with smerch trying our best to get a trout in the net... ( Psst...we should have went pike fishing)...haha...tough morning...no current put a damper on the bottom bouncing....later in the day.. current picked up sun came out...turned into the perfect day....but this old kid already stayed up too late and had to go to bed for the best part of them go to work.....got off early (2am..)....set up my blind and cracked a beer in the recroom....sat there quietly for a little while.....then finally out of boredom and an overactive imagination I managed to bag this trophy non typical.........

And it was also great to see all the women supporters which I doubt would be the same from Q.C. 
I believe we have the lying little turdeau ready to hide under his bed again ....keep it going Raquel !

(As you can gather from the above, I’m not happy with Trudeau right now - 2 of my .22 rimfile rifles are on that damn Bill C21 list!!)

By the way ..happy Thanksgiving everyone....here's something I'm thankful for.....after spending a great weekend with my daughter sharing all weekend between a friend's giving type dinner on Saturday at my house...a family dinner yesterday at my brother's house...my daughter and I thought it would be a great idea to step out and do some fishing on the way to dropping her back home....we waited until the weather cleared up a bit and spent a great afternoon at one of my old fishing haunts.....we drowned some worms and had a totally action packed afternoon...bites every time a line hit the water....she had a blast catching a bunch of Sunnie's and the odd perch in the mix.....no trophies.....but my trophy was watching her have a blast catching fish all afternoon right until we ran out of worms......and I  always know it's a great day and makes me a proud father when my young adult daughter wants to share some time with her dad....lol

He had his first visit inside the tunnel today FF ...in and out ( claustrophobia ) The snow is way over his head in the snow but I think we could see his tail 
sticking out to find him !  He is just over 7 months now & a holy terror , full of p & v. !
Here he is coming out of his "tunnel" ...........and a shot of tonights deep fried pike with some "all dressed" crushed chips in the batter (nice touch ) 
 
 

My 3man flip over is fairly heavy but pulls pretty good with the metal sled my buddy made. I’d like to get a 1 man flip over for myself

Chop some up for catfish bait. 

The suckers have arrived and there is lots of them. Caught about 20 in an hour today.

I hope it won't be too sloppy on the ice . I like fishing when it's mild ....no hut needed , but I wear the rubber (insulated) boots .
I was all set to take the hut out today , but 65 K winds do not appeal to me , fighting to get the hut set up ,etc. 
 
Winter has been a "blast" so far !  I haven't seen snow banks so high in many years !   Two months+ to go !    

Spring-like conditions for three days next week, 4 and 5 degrees with rain, should knock the snow down a bit. Then freezing up again after that.

Wow !  There's enough floats there to re-float La Grand Hermine !  

I know that we are in the middle of winter, but it won't be long before I'll be chasing spring pannies.  Gotta rebuild my float supply.
