Three dead & 5 injured in night time accident .  I have had 2 close calls during daylight hours . The lakes are busier now with more & faster boats everywhere .
I would not fish after dark in most lakes . I don't know who is at fault here , there are no speed limits on the water in most areas .
    Tragic !

Love an X-rap or a Jointed Rapala (Minnow or Perch color). Slow retrieve. I had the best luck on the other side of the lake from the park. There's two launches I only use the smaller one if I'm camping there the night. If I'm just doing a Day visit I'll use the one closer to the dam.

    I have the 120
but I put it in the back of my truck. Pull up to the launch and kick it out the back and when I get back I back the truck up and lift/pull the yak up out of the water into the truck.  Easy for me

if you can’t pick it up out of the water you can cart it to you truck, put the nose up on tailgate and push it in. That’s how I load it from my garage.

107lbs must be with Pdl installed. Take it out for easier lifting. Will save you 10-15lbs probably.

Hi Tyler.  Yes you don't cut your own trails... you pick an access point, enter the area and follow your map... basically going from lake to lake with portages in-between the lakes. Mostly everything is relatively well marked. Portages and campsites. You can make a trip as easy or as hard as you want. Tying your food in a tree... etc... good to research the ins and outs but doable.

Took my son into northern algonquin for a loop trip. All in we did 30 kms in portages. Fishing was awesome for specks in some of those back lakes. No monsters but good numbers. Proud of the boy, tough as nails.

Wind game is a whole different ball game in the kayak. I was thankful to have the motor or it would have been a painful paddle back. Luckily ticks aren't an issue on the kayak. Have to watch myself on some hikes though. Maybe when I go to the vets to pick up the next dose of Bravecto for the pooch in June, I ask for a dose for me too?

Did you mean rust remover because I'm a bit rusty on the Pike catching? If thats the case, well shoot... Might have to get some before I head out again lol

Yes Smerchly that is the pattern. Pine Squirrel Zonker strips aren't the most common material to find. So I substituted in a Olive Rabbit zonker strip trimmed thinner.I use a huge amount of Rabbit strips for Trout,Bass,Steelhead,Snook, and Bonefish...Its the material that catches everything..

If you are keen on hatch fishing I would make sure you have some Tan Caddis patterns..There's always Caddis on the water... There is also a good chance a fish will take a Caddis pattern even in a May Fly hatch..Just sayin

Wondering if anyone else was aware of the small population of Rattlesnake we have in the Wainfleet Bog. Was just reading up on a few articles. Pretty nifty.

Fished outta grimsby today. Wanted to get out to 40+fow but the winds had other plans. Made it to 25 and that was about the max wave height I’d wanna fish in. Cruised around a bit and went in to 12fow. Ended up with 2 lakers today one for each my buddy and I. Water temps were 50f. Both fish caught in flicker minnows.

Never fished the Saugeen proper, those ones are beasts!

We used to fish around Chatsworth area back in the 80's, most of the streams you could almost jump across, and most of the trout would be 7 or 8 inches, too small to filet, just gut them and fry up in butter. Good with a side of eggs for breakfast.

We would fish in the morning then drive around and shoot ground hogs in the afternoon, good times!
