  1. Yeah, possibly, but the nymph sinks, but it had no flash and a bit larger. Maybe the beadhead was the size / colour of what they'd be eating in there?
  2. BPS is closest for me. I'll see what they have and how much $$$.
  3. I was using the floater fly more as a strike indicator. I wasn't expecting anything to hit it at that time.
  4. On a 4wt they felt larger than they were. lol Those white perch must be spawning there. I'll go back when it clears up a bit.
  5. Tried another spot. Water still murky, but enough current and depth to hopefully get something. I used a larger bucktail fly (can't remember name) that floats really well (used as strike indicator) and added a 18" dropper to a beadhead nymph. Caught four white perch in the current seem. I changed the bead head for something more creature looking, maybe slightly larger, and caught nothing. Went back to the beadhead and caught the 5th white perch and packed it in. Learned something. How picky they can be and the spot they came out of.
  6. Where do you find that? I'd prefer to keep the profile of the fly as intended when match the hatch becomes important enough.
  7. I've watched few videos and nobody wants to say which the best. So far it seems gel and the powder to up keep work best with plenty of false casting inbetween. Discuss.
  8. Two tiny smallmouth. At least I was able to do some practice casting. Water a bit dirty / shallow than I'd like.
  9. I always pick up discarded fishing line. Especially if snarled up or causes tripping hard. Use scissors if bad enough.
  10. I've got 3 spots I'm going to try and they won't be the more accessible ones, because I'm sure they'll be busy. Have to see how the waters look with level and clarity. Mostly just want to try my fly gear, maybe toss a Rooster Tail. See what happens tomorrow and Sunday morning.
  11. Battery went flat because you got money back.
  12. The main thing will be getting to used to the casting and control of that fly line. See how the three spots I plan on fishing go. Going to be condition dependent for sure. Definitely planning for panfish, but they'll be more active in later May.
  13. Those streamers aren't bigger than the two woolly buggers. So may be ok and the largest I should go. Best way to learn is by doing and making mistakes. Eventually this 4wt will be dedicated for a certain style of fishing. Looking forward to trout opener, that could include chubs, shiners, suckers and ?
  14. I settled on a 4wt 8'6" combo. And bought a bunch of flies to start with. Not looking for anything large. Just anything that'll hit these flies. Especially on dry flies. Half the fun will be seeing which ones catch the most. I know presentation is a large part of it, but still....its just about fun and discovery.
  15. Here is one with kayaks.
  16. Did they catch anything?
  17. I'm sure the catfish aren't complaining.
  18. Is the tinner on top of the wheel wells? How wide is the tinner?
  19. Mostly would like to see how well it fits into the bed. Any kind of boat really. Length would be 12' - 14' Could be slim profile like kayak / canoe or squarish like a jon boat / cartopper aluminum. Maybe still need the bed extender from the hitch for extra security.
  20. Just wondering about limitations to lengths/widths in your situation.
  21. Walleye in the sky keeps on smiling.
  22. I'd imagine its done by now. Any reports if it was successful, if it happened?
  23. This is where barbless is good to go. If a bass they'll throw the lure easier. OOS just means you cannot target (specie) and you have to release them if caught.
