  1. In certain spots the wind can turn the fishing on.
  2. That's why I give a 1 star rating at the end of doing my "self check-out".
  3. This is why you need a trusted mechanic. Or in this case, a second opinion.
  4. That's great Smerchly. Don't wait for "nice weather", just go do it.
  5. Never feel rushed when packing your own bags.
  6. Canada needs to be either Cabela or BPS. What is on both websites doesn't represent whats in the store Cablela's site reflects Cabela's, yet BPS canada takes you to Cabelas as USA BPS has much more than Canada BPS which is apparaently Cabela's. 🤔🙄🤨
  7. I rarely fish Port on the weekends because of how busy it gets there in general. On Henley last last weekend there must have been 7 fishing kayaks, plus paddle boarders. Hopefully they don't get in the rowers way. That 4-Way Stop can be a mess when drivers and cyclists don't understand what STOP and rules of the road means.
  8. 1 of 3 in the same size and weight. 24" Got them from the same "spot" on 3 casts in a row then nothing else. There must be a reason why they're holed up here. 🤔 I'll keep trying it from time to time. Otherwise I don't like fixating too much on a spot.
  9. Its crazy how many spots have bee made off-limits or you have to pay for parking in the last few years
  10. Yeah, with the lack of rain, I'm surprised how dark the water still is.
  11. Heavy stained but fishable in the harbour, but lake side its clearing up. I noticed 15, 16 and 20 Mile Creeks (and Jordan Harbour itself) looking like 1 cream coffee. May be ok for catfish, but not really for anything else.
  12. 27" Been a while. I thought it was a snag. Got a few typical 1 lb'er smallies. Still no Sheepshead. 🤔
  13. More for the experience than the fish at that point. Nobody can guarantee fish. lol Hopefully this charter was well reviewed. Always start with the negatives and see if its consistent. Hopefully he has a good time
  14. I fished the harbour this morning (a couple of 10" bass) and it was stained a bit, but not unfishable. Didn't check The Pond today. Jordan, shouldn't be worse than normal. I say go out and give a go. HOWEVER, I believe being a holiday weekend, all fishing spots will be busy.
  15. These bass nest at different times and locations. Can't be avoided. If you feel guilty, don't fish until they're all done at the same time. 😉
  16. Tough but practical decisions. I stay local unless I have the urge to go to a remote lake to only hear loons and mosquitos.
  17. No, I only stay local to learn the water as much as I can. It was more of an observation and curiosity. I remember getting a 10 lber years ago and impressed at its power The "new" piers, don't have that undercut where fish could hide under or in. The old piers were most likely good for the eels. Somewhere to hide/scavenge.
  18. I used to get them often, but this year I haven't caught one in the harbour. Are their natural numbers dropping or being kept for food more often ? I also strongly believe that the rebuilt piers have diminished the fishing over all. Maybe its just me. lol
  19. Just test it with a standard test weight from time to time. Cheaper units will uncalibrate themselves more often.
  20. Use as a guide. I'm sure many eyes have been on it already. Balsam Lake, Ontario | Angler's Atlas (anglersatlas.com)
  21. I remember talking to a fishing section guy at Bass Pro about having a Carp/Catfish section as the area is good for those. He didn't disagree and would welcome it, but it would be a Head Office decisions. I guess they want to keep every Bass Pro exactly the same instead of catering to different areas.
  22. Revolving door justice system.
  23. Some of his stuff is ok. Good for shore fishing segments like Antonio.
