Took my son into northern algonquin for a loop trip. All in we did 30 kms in portages. Fishing was awesome for specks in some of those back lakes. No monsters but good numbers. Proud of the boy, tough as nails.

Fished outta grimsby today. Wanted to get out to 40+fow but the winds had other plans. Made it to 25 and that was about the max wave height I’d wanna fish in. Cruised around a bit and went in to 12fow. Ended up with 2 lakers today one for each my buddy and I. Water temps were 50f. Both fish caught in flicker minnows.

I launched at Port Colbourne, buddy and myself fished 2 spots, the last spot was 62 fow infront of Abino we took home 85 nice ones.
 

I started back up with my weekly states runs. Filled up pickup truck and 3 large jerry cans on weekend for 1.05 canadian per litre and picked up 30 cans of coors light at Tops for 18$. Over and back in an hour. Saved well over $125

Just a reminder that spring turkey season is right around the corner and i see that tags are now available on the online portal.

It definitely brings them in, coupled with the rabbit in distress sounds. Usually they figure it out before they actually get to the decoy, but by then they usually have a round through them. Sometimes they will just sit and stare at it wondering what's going on which just gives you a few extra seconds to get a shot off

I agree. I was out deer hunting this morning and shot 2 coyotes with my crossbow. It's common practice if you are deer hunting to shoot coyotes. As far as gear, what you can use depends on the area you're hunting. I like electric callers for yotes and also own an electric rabbit that shakes around to get their attention. 

I wonder if these milder Temps are responsible for the low deer numbers everywhere. It's crazy going into January and haven't even touched a shovel (not complaining lol). 

Fished the lower this morning from 7-11. Good viz. boats catching a few and a couple shore anglers catching. It was cold and hard to keep the eyes cleared and reel from freezing up. Using braid didn’t help. We caught two bows and a brown using bags and corkies. 

I have been doing some coyote control around my property in NOTL. They are out of control no doubt, and coincidentally this is the fewest amount of deer I've seen out here in years.
